Hi

I used NPTech for my salivary adrenal profile, I have no complaints about them, the test was done quick and the results emailed and posted to me, they do seem to lack in any follow up advice and their explanation was pretty sparce, although the way they presented the results was good and easy to understand.

I have just recently sent a salivary sample to Genova for a candida test and they will then send the results back to Dr P, I would have prefered them to send me a copy too but I guess they think they need an expert to interpet them, so cant comment on them yet. I think though that Genova are more expensive

>I am wondering what is happening with NPTech since they were bought out by Lab21 - as personally, I have had no complaints from anybody that anything is any different. I know that Dr P told me that Genova Diagnostics is better, but are they not more expensive. I think Genova Diagnostics do write a lot more on the results sheets and that NPTech are rather 'sparce' in their information and leave a lot to be desired there, and having to interpret NPTech's results isn't as easy. Hi , I had a salivary adrenal test and a 24 thyroid urine test

with Genova, I contacted them to ask for my results, as you said they

send them to referring practitioner. One was e-mailed to me and the

other they sent to me. They said they would do it for Dr P's

patients :-) obviousl know him. Ruth x

Does that mean that for those sufferers undergoing the test who are NOT patients of Dr peatfields and treating themselves, that they will not be sent the test results. Do they ONLY test people referred by a medical practitioner - if so, this is no good for me to recommend some of our members to use.

I'm not Ruth but funnily enough I've just come off the phone from

asking them this very question. The answer was that they WILL do

tests for people without them having a referring practioner but they

emphasised that the results must be interprted by a practioner as

the lab does not offer consultations of any sort.

She did originally ask my name and knew that I was a patient of Dr

Peatfield, so to clarify I deliberately asked that, if in the future

I wanted to do an entirely private test for myself, nothing to do

with Dr P at all and have the results solely sent to me, would that

be possible. She said yes, no problem.

Hi Sheila

On the form that comes with the test kits from Genova it does want to know the name of the referring medical practioner and the results are forwarded to him, I think they know Dr P well as I guess he uses them quite often for him patients, not sure what they would do or say if you werent referred by a practioner, would they still carry out the test?

I think this is where they differ from NTPech who dont ask for a referral

Thank you very much for this - it now puts my mind at rest. So, I will recommend Genova Diagnostics as another choice for members to get their blood/saliva/urine tested.

Do you have the details for me please i.e. telephone number, email addy, list of tests and prices they charge etc.
