Guest guest
Has anyone or does anyone use Isocort to support their adrenals? I am using Nae but dont think its doing a lot for me, my worst time of the day is first thing in the morning and around 4pm all my salivary results were below range apart from the midnight one, the 4pm one being the worst, I get no quality of sleep, ever, and havent done for many years, this is obviously something that has developed over time and had reached a head since I began thyroxine. Any one got any experience of Isocort?
Guest guest
Hi ~ I started using Isocort for my adrenals in May, after my cortisol saliva labs showed early Stage 5 adrenal fatigue. I started according the ramp-up schedule suggested here ~ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info/how-to-treat/. The package information says to take no more than 8 pellets per day, which would be the equivalent of 20mgs of cortisol, as each pellet contains 2.5mg of cortisol. From information I learned on the NTHAdrenals group, most people need more than 20mgs of cortisol per day to overcome their adrenal issues. I slowly ramped up to 35mg (14 pellets) of Isocort by following the temperature graphing per www.drrind.com , and also decreased Armour while ramping up to prevent any " thyroid dump " . After ramping up to my optimal dose, the 14 pellets were spread throughout the day to support the cortisol rhythym: 7:00am: 4 pellets 10:00am 4 pellets 1:00pm 2 pellets 4:00pm 2 pellets bed: 2 pellets Many do okay with dosing every 4 hours, as that is the lifespan of coritisol in the body. I noticed 4 hours was too far and began dosing every 3 hours to great success. From those who've used Isocort, they say it isn't as strong as hydrocortisone, and each pellet really only contains 1.5mg-2.0mg cortisol per pellet. Just Isocort was not sufficient for me, and I swapped my two morning doses for 1/4 tsp of Hydrocortisone cream (1/4 tsp = 10mg HC). I also take 1/2 tsp Ashwaganda in the morning. I expect to be able to return to all Isocort in a few months. My body is very sensitive to synthetics, but needed the extra push from the HC cream. My schedule now looks like this: 7:00am: 1/4 tsp HC cream + 1/2 tsp Ashwaganda 10:00am: 1/4 tsp HC cream 1:00pm 2 pellets 4:00pm 2 pellets bed 2 pellets I noticed a huge difference with Isocort. take care, ~ -----Original Message----- Has anyone or does anyone use Isocort to support their adrenals?
