Guest guest
I am overwhelmed (not good for the adrenals - pleased I am laughing today) by all your replies yesterday. Thank you so much. I believe there is a file on help for the adrenals and supplements that help but I can't find it in the files???? I tried Nutri Adrenal Extra from April to October and then stopped them (prior to test) and had my first adrenal saliva test from Genova diagnostics where I found levels: 7-8 am 7.8 (range 12-22) 11-12 am 2.7 (range 4-8) 16.00-17.00 2.1 (range 3-7) 23.00-00.00 1.3 (range 1-3) Daily total 13.9 (range 20-40) my nutritionist has suggested another test as it is 2 months now since I have been on Dr 's dynamite adrenals and 3 months since the last test. Do any of you consider it worth it? I will be seeing Dr Peatfield at the end of March and wondered if it would help him. Also (as I am sure you are in the same boat) all this is costing so much money and I haven't been able to work for nearly a year now. Not that I can put a price on my health. What's the lab you use for adrenal testing? I think it was given me before by Sheila but I can't find the posting - my brain can't function for any lengths of time. In the powder there is zinc, b vits, some glandulars etc. I am supporting them generally by tring to pace myself, avoiding sugars and coffee (the latter most of the time). I think my armour thyroid will be here soon as I paid extra for Fed Ex but I am worried it might not work as my cortisol is so low. I am going to do the zinc test and get some siberian ginseng. Interesting about the addiction/hypo t link - I go to overeaters anonymous and alcoholics anonymous (well only aa at the moment as it is local, I haven't the energy to go further to oa). I had a problem with overeating since 7/8 so I believe I was self medicating even then but I am sure the dieting/weight gain years until 46 haven't helped the thyroid either or the adrenals. Alcohol is there too but food was my drug of choice. I have been meaning to get Dr Lefever's book for some time .... OA has helped me enormously and I got my weight stable but in the last year it has gone up 1/2 a stone so I know there is something else going on eg, thyroid etc. Back to you please ....
