Patty,

My PS says that they pay even if I don't reimplant only if the

implants were leaking. I am also not sure about this because I had

heard that they only replace the implant, no $$$. He swears that

they will, but you know...he might be lying.

I think what Shari said was good advice also, that even if I took the

$$1200 I would have to sign away any rights to sue or whatever, so I

think I will take your collective advice and not send to Mcgahn

(SP?) Not that there have been any successful suits, but you never

know what can happen in the future. Besides, I can just imagine my

implants getting lost in the twilight zone and " accidentally " being

destroyed...

My PS insists that they have to go to pathology before I take them to

send to Blais. I told my PS that Blais helped girls get $$$ from

medical insurance reimbursement if the implants were contaminated. I

think he believes me, but who knows? I hope they don't get lost or

whatever.

Thanks again,

Ann

you understand fully what that $1200 is about. As my understanding

goes, the $1200 will only be given to you if you reimplant. That is

the McGhan " warranty " . It pays for the replacement implants. I

could be wrong, but I would hate for you to give up your implants to

McGhan, only to find out that you aren't going to get any money, or

any answers.

where they were faulty, what is wrong with them, if they are

contaminated. In fact, his information will probably be more

valuable to you than McGhans or your pathology lab will be, because

he knows what to look for and he is uninvolved. I guess I am biased

because I don't trust McGhan as far as I could throw them. And your

pathology lab won't have a clue what to look for, other than to tell

you that they looked at some scar tissue. I made that mistake and

paid $200 for worthless information.

Patty,

The PS says he will put them in fixative, does that sound right???

He is making a huge deal about the fixative being very dangerous,

etc. He does not want me to take the implants of course. He is

insisting that they MUST go to pathology first before I get them,

does that sound right???

Thanks,

Ann

with you! That is what my explanting surgeon did. He only sent a

piece of the scar tissue to the pathologist, but the implants came

home with me. Pathology did not need to have the implants. You can

then send them on to Blais with no contamination if they are properly

packaged from the point they are taken out. Whatever you do, make

sure your PS understands you want them back and have him sign a

letter or something stating he understands your wishes and will abide

by them. Make sure you get this clearly agreed before you go into

surgery, so that there is no misunderstanding and then the implants

get " lost. "
