Guest guest
that's interesting cos mine appears to be shrinking nicely. Even the specialist has said so too. Will find out for sure when I have my next scan. Perhaps you need it checking. M. > > > > Yes hon, I believe so > > luv Dawnx > > > Really? Damn. Guest guest
HI Have you been tested to see whether you have antibodies to your thyroid (or not)? Guest guest
Depends if you have autoimmune thyroiditis I was told the antibody attacks leave the surrounding tissue inflamed and it can swell, I don't know how much, but it could theoreticly look like a goitre. My mum's shrunk on thyroxine, then came up, then shrunk, she still has a lumpy neck despite 'optimal' treatment. lotsa luv Dawnx
Guest guest
Hi I was reading some new work yesterday on goitre. Seems that stem cells need TSH to be activated into growth and that obviously implies that high TSH might do just that, producing goitres through rapid replication. Note: the use of high doses of T4 to suppress cancers, keeping the TSH very low. http://joe.endocrinology-journals.org/cgi/content/abstract/JOE-07-0552v1 Identification of an adult stem/progenitor cell-like population in the human thyroid. best wishes Bob > > Hiya > > Is it possible to develop a goitre while on Levothyroxine and with test results
Guest guest
Hi , That is a horrific ally quick rise- do they plan to treat or retest at the very least? Subject: Re: Goitre? I don't think so. I had a test result today at the diabetic clinic that showed my TSH has gone up to 2.25 from 0.26 last month, not sur eif that means anything. They didn't test anything else. I'll ask about the antibodies thanks Sheila x > > HI > > Have you been tested to see whether you have antibodies to your thyroid (or not)? > > Luv - Sheila > > > > Hiya > > Is it possible to develop a goitre while on Levothyroxine and with test > results that look ok?
