Guest guest
Hi! My name is . I am a 35 year old woman ~ 5'9 " 135 lbs. I am posting today, because I have had pain in the upper right quad. of my abdomin, as well as pain in the right shoulder, and under the right shoulder blade. The first time was about two weeks ago, and then it happened again this past Monday. I went to an urgent care center, and they sent me for a HIDA Scan. The results of the scan were that my gallbladder is not functioning properly ~ it is functioning at 28%. They told me that a scan would not show stones, so I may have stones. They have referred me to a surgeon for removal of my gallbladder. I am wondering if there are any other treatment options available ~ medication, diet? Is it possible to have gall bladder dysfunction without gallstones? How bad is 28% functionability? I have read that some people have as low as 12%, so I am not sure why the first treatment option would be surgery. Thank you so much for any advice or help you can provide.
