Guest guest
Hi there JonnyI was on thyroxine T4 and switched to armour I have much more energy and am much warmer as well, even though the gp kept saying i was in range on T4 i still felt cold and had nil energy. My husband cant keep up with me now for the first time in 13 years. I am so happy I keep telling him I am so happy. :-) Carol X Just two random questions on Armour and Cytomel Ok, first question: Has anyone been on Armour treatment and on Thyroxine + Cytomel Treatment (Obviously not at the same time) Does being on Armour feel much different to having the Thyroxine and Cytomel? Just curious as to whether having the T1 and T2 that are in Armour makes any difference? Second Question: Has anyone been on Armour and on thyroxine at the same time? Just thinking that if thyroxine is taken as well as Armour (so that the dose of Armour is less than would normally be) the ratio of T4 to T3 would be lower (more T4 compared to T3), closer to that of the body. Does/would this make the patient feel under-treated? Or do patients need higher ratios than that of the body? I guess these are more hypothetical as I doubt many people would be able to answer these but thought Id ask anyway Jonny Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search. Guest guest
Hi Jonny, Yup I have tried both Armour and T3- usually take both at the same time. I seem to have some sort of resistance to the meds and need lots of T3 to 'get through'. I do feel better on Armour than on just T3. Too much T4 from the Armour ( if I was to increase the dose) would give me joint pains which is why I need to add T3 too. Sure the 90/10 ratio is ideal, but wer'e all individuals, some of us will have permenant damage from being poorly/undertreated for years, so how much T4/ T3 is needed seems to be wildly individual, depending how the patient converts or fails completely. > > > Does being on Armour feel much different to having the Thyroxine and> Cytomel? Guest guest
I can answer part of your question Jonny. I have been on 125 mcgs Thyroxine alone, then on 50 mcgs Thyroxine + 20 mcgs Liothyronine (T3), then moved on to taking (now) 3 grains of Armour + 25 mcgs Thyroxine. When taking the thyroxine _ Liothyronine, after 9 days, I felt terrible. I got palpitations, felt dizzy (actually felt at one time I might lose consciousness) felt spaced out and very scared. I phoned my endocrinologist who told me it could not possibly be the T3 and to call my GP as obviously something else was wrong with me, and there was no connection to my thyroid. That was when I left the NHS and went to see a private specialist who prescribed me Armour because I had a conversion problem. I ahve NEVER once looked back from that day, but I do need the addition of 25 mcgs of Thyroxine added to my Armour. I personally am CONVINCED that T2 and T1 in Armour are the magic ingredients. I have collected lots of information about T2 and T1 and you can have a look at this in our Files - medical practitioners deny that these hormones have any function whatsoever, but if I can find information about them, why can't they? Guest guest
You know Carol - that is the one thing I remember - how HAPPY I felt after I started taking Armour and how happy I still feel. I also got my brain back, short term memory gone for the first time in years and brain fog absolutely cleared. Had it not been for Armour, there quite simply would be no TPA-UK. I would be in a wheelchair now - or perhaps even dead.
