Guest guest
Tandra, you may want to either invest in a couple of clin path books to keep score on these blood tests or go on line for details. Obviously though, the docs are backing off on their Rush To Judgement (now that you are " asking too many questions " ). Ha ha. This website is turning you into a BAD patient. Here's the general view WBC 6.1 = 6,100 cells, in general, 5,000-10,000 would be normal. Nothing active happening. WBC DIFFERENTIAL Tells you all the types of WBCs swimming around. It's like looking at a battlefield or ball court. It shows you what the body has geared up. If there are lots of bloody wounded tired soldiers (neutrophils) accompanied by 14 year old kids thrown into uniforms (bands) then you know a war has been raging, your immune system is throwing wbcs too young to be in circulation, etc. It's fascinating and enlightening stuff. TOT BILI =shows bilirubin from all sources, can be from excessive breakdown of rbcs as in a blood destruction, or bile that has been processed by the liver and couldn't get out because of some swelling or blockage. Yours is normal. PANCREAS The specific tests for pancreatitis are lipase and amylase. Perhaps they chose not to test your pancreas. You are in an excellent position to begin some stone dissolving, liver healing and immune mending. Congratulations. Will
Guest guest
Dear Will: In addition to your generosity with your time and knowledge, you are now running an online bio-chem class. Thank you. I too while not in an acute phase can and did benefit from your explanation of how to read a chem panel and what it means in lay terms. Thank you, (Atlanta)
Guest guest
Will, just found out they didn't test my amylase Fri., but they tested it on the 3rd, and it was 17. I'm getting that tested again Wed. Also found out the size of my large stone-17mm. ( The CT scan reported one large stone and small stones) My gall bladder pain is almost gone. Am watching my diet very closely and waiting for my chinese herbs from sensiblehealth. By the way, have you ever heard any adverse effects from taking these? Guest guest
Tandra, sounds like the docs are handling you better now. Funny, how when you start asking lots of appropriate questions, you often get better care! That amylase is normal and I think you've got a clean slate for continuing your journey into natural cures. Keep super honest on your diet (no matter what the temptation) and ease yourself into the herbs. I've not heard of any bad reactions although some may have to go very slowly, gradually increasing your dosage. Everyone is slightly different. If the GCG gives you liver pain, that may not be all bad, but you should definitely back off the dosage to a comfortable level. I'd recommend immune strengthening vitamins and minerals now as you probably once had some infection in the GB, you don't want it back. Once again, congratulations!
