Guest guest
>>Just a quick question - who do you prove that your 'illeocecal valve' was jammed? I just can not believe that you were able to pinpoint this as the cause of your pain. And your opinion about eating roughage...how can these events be connected? I think the jump in logic is questionable.<< I have had trouble with this little valve myself. It is a valve that is between the small and large intestine...under the right circumstances, it is triggered to open to allow the contents of the small intestine to enter the large. Under wrong circumstances it will either stay closed or open. This can be caused by a few things, inflammation or irritation, or the nerve impulses that help in opening and closing may be impaired, which can be corrected by a good chiropractic adjustment. Generally, it is located to the right in from the hipbone about two inches down from the belly-button line. This is a general description of the location, but if you " feel " around that general area, you may find a tender spot. Whether open or closed, I would just gently massage. There is also a massage point on the outside of the right upper arm...run your fingers down from the the shoulder 2-3 inches, if you find a tender spot, massage it, it may help as well. It is best to be lying down and relaxed. Warmth on the area helps as well. You may also want to soothe the area taking Intestinal Soothe, Slippery Elm, Golden Seal if intestinal infection is suspect, Flora Force or other probiotic formula. L. Guest guest
The first time it happened, my chiropractor at the time diagnosed it and worked to reverse it. The 2nd time it happened, I knew what it was, but again the chiro. worked on me. The 2nd time it happened was within an hour or two of too quickly eating a very crunchy, huge amount of stir fry--I'm sure I didn't chew it well enough. Here is a PDF that talks about the problem. http://doctorhaas.com/pdf/ileocecalvalvesyndrome.pdf YMMV. mrf Meydrech, CN wrote: > >>Just a quick question - who do you prove that your 'illeocecal > valve' was > jammed?
