Guest guest
Hi Wouldn't be wonderful if each and every one of us could claim all our medical expenses (medicines, laboratory tests etc) back from the Department of Health? Luv - Sheila Hi Dawn,I have all my supplements costed on a spreadsheet so I can track exactly how much of each component (vits, mins, amino acids, essential oils, hormones and herbs) I'm taking on a daily basis and how much it is costing me (you can tell I was once a database designer and analyst can't you!).People who take a number of supplements each day, can easily be spending in excess of £1,000 a year and not realise it. That's why I had to do a cost analysis to really see just what I was spending - and I was SHOCKED!! It costs me around £25 per WEEK with everything I take. Anyway ... to get to the point(!), I took this along with me when I went to see my new GP, and also presented him with test results, research etc etc, but in an orderly and logical fashion so as not to overwhelm him. I explained to him that I didn't intend to be on all these supplements for longer than necessary, but it helped him to understand the extent I was prepared to go to in order to get well - and that did impress him.I think this was one of the reasons he was supportive of me and happy to refer me to the Endo I asked for. (This is after having to leave my previous surgery after 8 years as they refused to acknowledge Dr Peatfield's diagnosis and my priviate lab tests). So, whilst I can't say for sure why your GP asked you this question - I don't think it is harmfull for him to know what you are investing in your attempt to regain your health. As I told my GP - this is SAVINGS I'm using as I hardly bring any money in any more thanks to losing my job due to poor health. I'm just lucky I at least have that to fall back on; so many people don't.If you are confident using excel spreadsheets with formulas I'd be happy to email you my template that may help you work out just exactly what you are spending.... and that goes to anyone else out there who's curious! xx>> Today I thought it strange that my GP asked me what all my stuff was> costing me a month, I said with all the supplements, Glandulars and> Armour it will prolly work out about £25 a month, because I was n't> really sure. He asked exactly what I was on and then asked the> financial question. I am intrigued now, I wish I had asked him why lol.> > He agreed to do a folate (as suggested by bob) and B12 test and I> aren't sure if I asked for copper or if he said I could have it.> > Anyway, curiouser and curiouser> lotsa luv> Dawnx> No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG. Guest guest
Yes - and they could start with National Insurance - give me a quarter of what I pay a month back and I could get a really good private health policy! Guest guest
We are spending a fortune on 's medication, simply because the NHS refuse to give him a diagnosis of hypothyroidism, even though his TSH was 5.7. I could do with us spending our pension on better things, but his health comes first and he eventually got diagnosed through Dr P, but we have to buy his Armour ourselves. I just feel so lucky that I have an NHS endocrinologist who recommended Armour for me and that my GP is happy to prescribe it. We could never afford to have to buy it for us both, especially as is on 4 grains and I'm on 3 plus 25 mcgs L-thyroxine. It is just great to know that my endo. tells me his patients who didn't do well on L-thyroxine are improving on Armour. He must have about a dozen such patients now. I am waiting for our 'Armour girls' who are with Dr B to have their next appointments and see how he is. I hope he is not being got at by the BTA - but there is a clique there who have their own agenda who continue to hound these brave doctors, and even though they cannot get at them because they prescribe Armour or T4/T3 combination therapy anymore, they will try another way. Dr S was allowed to carry on with the way he diagnosis and treats, so the tables are beginning to turn, I only wish I could get the message out to Dr B and all the others who are afraid for their future, that Dr S won, and has surely now set a precedent. BTW - does anybody who sees Dr Thierry Hertoghe in Belgium know where he is at the moment. please as I need some info. from him? Another question - does anybody know anything about the forthcoming BTA elections?
