Guest guest
Well, you haven't posted the reference ranges, so will have a guess. Your TSH is WAY outside the reference range and you should get a diagnosis of hypothyroidism, especially with your Free T4 which also looks to be below the reference range. Has your doctor given you these results, and if so, what does he say about them. You should be referred to the NHS endocrinologist at your local hospital Cassie. luv - Sheila Just had my test results back from A & E last week..TSH 14.72FT4 9.2So now what? Guest guest
Hi ya, put it this way at least you know what's wrong with you now! They will probably want to start you on thyroxine if your adrenals are ok. Are they? Ruth x > > Well, you haven't posted the reference ranges, so will have a guess. Guest guest
I agree with Shelia, your TSH is very high, usually the cut off point is around 5, I know what I felt like when mine was around 8 so you must feel bad, mine is now 3 ish and still dont feel 'quite there' yet. You should get a diagnosis with those results, I did with mine straight away From: lostgirl7784 <ruthmillward77@...>Subject: Re: Well folks, its no wonder I'm feeling like poopthyroid treatment Date: Wednesday, 16 July, 2008, 3:12 PM Hi ya, put it this way at least you know what's wrong with you now! Guest guest
Dear Cassie, I'm sorry , I've been off the forum trying to get my internet connection back. I re-read your previous posts. A long gap in raising the thyroxine dose causes a worsening of symptoms, since the thyroid isn't then working as well as it might have been previously. Continuity in treatment is very important. It might be worthwhile asking your for a temporary prescrition for T3 (tri-iodothyronine ~ ?Liothyronine) to rapidly get you back in gear. It might take between 5-10 micrograms/day (plus or minus a bit) of T3 to improve some of your worse symptoms; those that have arisen due to the long gap in increasing your thyroxine dose. The other factor, of having a variety of different manufactured tablets doesn't help your situation. It is best to stick with just one supplier (eg Alpharma, but there are others). It might help with your work situation, if they have a medical department, to mention that your treatment has been upset over the last few (?) months and that you expect to be in a better postion to improve matters now that you realise what has gone wrong. best wishes Bob > > Just had my test results back from A & E last week.. > > TSH 14.72 > > FT4 9.2 > > So now what? Guest guest
Hi, You need to go see your GP immediately for diagnosis and treatment. NOTE you get free prescriptions with myxodema ( the old name for hypo)- make sure doc fills in form for exemption card.
