Left side pain [was Foods to eat and to avoid?]

I need to add to this -- I would sometimes have the same intense pains in my

back on the left side as well as the right. It was an acupuncturist who

suggested that I might have a weakened spleen. This was confirmed by another

alternative practitioner and by my own studies. This, of course, didn't make

sense since the pain was in my back and seemed to be the intercostal nerve but

more recently during my last humongous attack, that I could feel a very strong

contraction behind my left lower ribs in the front (spleen area, I think).

However, I went with it figuring there must be a connection. The lady at

sensiblehealth.com who sold me the Chinese herbs that helped me have such a

fabulous second flush recommended taheebo (or Pau d'Arco) tea which helps to

strengthen the spleen.

But then again, I could be off the mark but everything I've been doing seems to

really be profoundly beneficial so I think I'm on the right track. YMMV.

Also according to what I've gotten from studying Chinese medicine, the spleen

likes warming foods, like honey, beef broth, things that are simpler to digest,

that sort of thing. However, I think that working with the gallbladder and

liver is key because I think what happens to them also affects the spleen as

well (and the pancreas).

I do flush numero three-o starting tomorrow -- at least I'm not having an attack

to go along with it. Can't wait to see how it goes.
