Guest guest
I think you're confusing Premarin, used in hormone replacement therapy, with birth control. Horses are kept pregnant & their urine is collected. The pregnancy generates high levels of hormones. The estrogenic hormones are then distilled out of the urine. Of the approximately 12 estrogens in horse urine, only 2 exactly match a woman's. Since the hormones are distilled out, there is no " urine " , per se, in the HRT. The safety, efficacy & morality of it are a whole 'nother discussion, however. Info on Premarin: http://www.premarin.org/ The pill contains synthetic hormones. They're chemically generated in the lab, not thru horse urine. L --- In iodine , " surprisedbyjoytoo " > Is this true? > Kathy
