Guest guest
So I've been working so hard to be good with the diet, but tonight I had a mini-attack - thankfully manageable with meds, and not requiring a visit to the ER. The attack came after I had peach sorbet, with bananas and maraschino cherries. Could it be the bananas? (gassy) The sorbet? (sugary, plus the last ingredient is ascorbic acid) The cherries? (more sugar, very mildly fermented) Which do you think is likeliest to have caused it? I guess all three are off the list for now. Sigh... Geri: I have a much harder time digesting foods with chemicals than I do anything else. I have always suspected (with no scientific backup other than gut feelings) that is the reason many people report mayo being problematic -- as it is to me too. I found my digestion was the best when I had simply made foods, preferably organic or fresh (produce) not canned, not processed, and not prepared by others -- ie baked goods, cookies, premade grocery store tuna, delis meat, etc. As time went on and my liver detoxed I was able to have an occasional item from the above list of no-no foods for me. Even occasionally mayo. My vote is the cherries are the culprit. (atlanta)
Guest guest
Geri, for me, it's also related to TIMING, I can't pig out late at night anymore. In the " good " old days I could eat a T-bone steak with fries at midnight with no noticible effects. Now, I try to eat dinner around 6-7 pm and not later (with social exceptions!). If I eat late, I double my nightly dose of enxymes, betaine and probiotics. Sounds from you note you may have eaten this dessert later in the evening which wouldn't work too good for me. I would also go with the highly processed cherries as a good food to ELIMINATE from the diet (food colorings are super carcinogens too). Guest guest
HI group--I've been busy moving and have finally settled in--and doing my third flush today--ugg I can't stand the epsom salts--that is the toughest part for me!!! But let me say during any kind of attack or pain all you need is to down a good teaspoon of epsom salts (I take it with any juice) and the pain can be relieved because you are opening up the ducts.---fyi When I first got sick back in June--any kind of fat caused PAIN--- but now I am much better--the diet is some fat--not alot but I added more fruit. So no more pain in the right side stomach area but still back pain--thus the third flush. When you eat something that causes the need for bile your gallbaldder will try and expel that bile but when it's clogged with stones---you will feel pain or an attack---pay attention to these they are telling you do NOT eat this again!!!! Until you get rid of the stones!!!! I only have had one attack but a lot of back pain --I try and add more juice, veggies , fruit and when I eat protein or a heavy meal I'll take a good digestive enzyme---or HCL. That has helped A great deal with allowing me to live a bit normal again. But that also allows you to feel you can be normal again----which I really should be flushing and sticking to fruit, veggies, oatmeal and lean protein only. anyway I hate this so much---hahhahahh--it's the epsom salts ---so hard to get down. well I hope I get rid of more of those stones!!!!!!!!! tina > > > So I've been working so hard to be good with the diet, but tonight I had a > mini-attack - thankfully manageable with meds, and not requiring a visit > to the ER. > > The attack came after I had peach sorbet, with bananas and maraschino > cherries. > > Could it be the bananas?
