Guest guest
never heard of a orac value--but I will say since I have been at least 50% fruit I am doing better!!!!!!!! less protein and fats have helped my body return to a more normal state. and for the guy with alcohol---no way does it dissolve stones--it will hurt your liver not help it. try apple pectin (or pear)--which is from unfiltered juice or juice raw apples yourself--this is known to soften and round out the stones. Diet is a big help but you must change it.--promagranite juice is great as well!!!I also drink cranberry, grapefruit seems to help a lot as well. > > > Have you heard of ORAC Value? > > > > > > Nutritionists suggest that people consume 3,000 to 5,000 ORAC units per day to have an impact on health. Tart cherry products contain up to 12,800 ORAC units per 100 grams. Other fruits range from 700 to 5,700 ORAC units per 100 grams. > > (See chart at http://www.echerryjuice.com) > > > > Brunswick Labs discovered that tart cherries contain a class of compounds called SOD (super oxide dismutase), which act as super scavengers of dangerous free radicals, destroying them throughout the body. There is more research on the health benefits of cherry juice at this link: http://www.royalridgefruits.com They seem to have the best price on the concentrate and One ounce is like eating 100 cherries a day without ill effects. Something worth looking into. > > > > > --------------------------------- > Music Unlimited - Access over 1 million songs. Guest guest
Orac value is a scale to quantify anti-oxidant activity. All foods will register somewhere on the scale. All fruits, barks, rootbarks, seeds, etc. are high on the scale. All sprouted grains contain large quantities of SOD (an enzyme). Eat more real foods. A lot more. Quit eating junk. Simple, not easy. ----- Original Message ----- From: Cheryl<mailto:purplesun0104@...> purplesun0104@...<mailto:purplesun0104@...> Sent: Wednesday, October 19, 2005 2:42 PM Subject: Have you heard of ORAC Value? Guest guest
Speaking of Orac value, I just purchased raw organic chocolate powder. IN the link I included above there's plenty of info about orac value. I've been in Sweden the past two weeks and I bought some other form there and have been drinking it in milk. Now that I'm home I'm excited to drink it with raw goat milk. I notice better skin memory etc. but I eat blueberries too which does the same thing. I get raw organic frozen at trader Joe's and eat about 1 to 2 cups a day. chocolate is supposedly the greatest source of anti-oxidant greater than green tea and greater than red wine if you can get it minus the sugar and all the other crap candy bars add to it. Here's a link to where I order my raw chocolate powder http://www.rawfood.com/cgi-bin/order/index.cgi?id=422436571177 & d=single & item_id=\ 1004 & m=home The raw cocao nibs gave me attacks but the powder doesn't after not having attacks for weeks so if you're in an acute state I'd start slowly --- Dave Shelden <wholehealthawareness@...> wrote: > Orac value is a scale to quantify anti-oxidant > activity.
