Guest guest
Anne, Woohoo, everyone had a goodnight's sleep- yeah for Max! I would agree with Debbie that 3 weeks is too long to be seen- with Max only 6-7 mnths old by that time, I would want to be seen every 2 weeks at least- they are growing so rapidly at this age, its better to be seen and check for growth/comfort than to wonder what's happening in my opinion. That way you can all keep really good tabs on what's taking shape. Good luck! ' mom
Guest guest
Yay Max!! What a huge relief huh? Well, personally and from experience, I'd say 3 wks in between check ups for just a 6 mos old baby is too long to go. I'd still say he should be seen at LEAST bi-weekly, he's growing sooo fast right now, it's best to be seen frequently. 3 wks is too long. Guest guest
Anne, Hooray for Max! Glad to hear that he slept through the night with his helmet!! On Friday why don't you ask your ortho for his rationale for only wanting to see Max every three weeks. Listen to what he has to say and then voice your concerns about the amount of growth a 6 month old experiences. I'm sure he has an open door policy that allows you to come in anytime you feel there might be a problem or an adjustment might be needed. Hear what he has to say, but be sure to be assertive about your concerns as well. If his explanation for the 3 week waiting period does not satisfy you then ask if you could go ahead and come in every 2 weeks just to be sure. I'm guessing that if he is a good ortho he will be just fine with that. He'll want you to be comfortable with the treatment process. Good luck and let us know how it goes on Friday. Guest guest
We ended up on a 3 week schedule with our ortho. We also had the understanding that they would fit Jenna in at anytime in between if needed. They kept their word and squeezed her in when needed. I think that only happened a few times. Let us know how Friday goes. Guest guest
I agree with Debbie. My baby was banded at 11+ mths and was seen bi-weekly through out her treatment time. Even at 18 mths she was seen bi-weekly. Guest guest
Anne, That's great that it didn't bother him. Kids are amazing, aren't they? I don't know how well I could sleep with something on my head! Hannah's first night in hers was last night too and I expected much worse, but she only got up her usual once to eat and went right back down. Guest guest
Oh, I forgot to add that we're going weekly for adjustments. Hannah's a bit younger though (almost 5 mos). Maybe you can ask them about it again next time.
