Guest guest
Traci, Yes, don't eat ANY foods with fat at all the day of the cleanse - cooked cereal such as oatmeal, cream of wheat, toast with jam (NO butter) fruit, and of course no cheese, dairy, meat etc. It is just for ONE day. Not eating fats the day of the cleanse is really really important if you want to cleanse Traci <tracic@...> wrote: I don't know how many people remember me, but I wrote in several months ago asking about cleansing while nursing. I decided to wait until I am done breastfeeding and then cleanse. Well, my baby is now 10 months old.I haven't had a gallbladder attack in about 6 months.thanks to healthy eating. However, my gallbladder has recently started hurting, it's really sore and I'm also sore on the left side as well. I just want to cleanse now! So I'm thinking of doing Hulda e's cleanse without using the ornithine capsules and also not using black walnut tincture. So basically just the grapefruit, olive oil and then the Epsom salt mixture. I have looked online and I can't see why the Epsom salts would hurt my baby. I plan to start this tomorrow or Saturday. Any tips? Anyone done this? Can I use only 2 tablespoons of Epsom salts instead of 4? Also, what should I eat the day of the cleanse? Anything low in fat and without butter and milk or should I stick with a few select foods? I was thinking just fruit maybe? Thanks, Traci
Guest guest
Hi Traci, To answer the other part of your e-mail I just completed a flush yesterday. I followed 's flush, however I didn't use ornithine capsules or black walnut tincture and had great results. However, I did use 4 tablespoons of Epsom salts. Good luck Craig > > From: " Traci " <tracic@...> > Date: 2005/12/29 Thu PM 04:09:13 EST > <gallstones > > Subject: Nursing and I think I'm going to cleanse HELP > >
Guest guest
Are you taking Stone Free ? It breaks down the stones before you flush, so its not so traumatic. I did a simple flush. No food for 24 hours, just apple juice, then the olive oil and lemon juice. Then the epsom salt. It worked very well and was not too hard on me. It might give your baby loose stools or she/he might refuse to nurse. I never got so lucky. My babies never refused to nurse. I'm just glad I weaned them before they were able to completely undress me in public. I have 5 kids-no twins, and started having gallbladder problems after #5. Good luck to you! Guest guest
Hi Traci, I've done plenty of flushes while nursing. Your baby will probably have a little bit of loose bm's the day of the cleanse, but it is certainly nothing to worry about. I've used black walnut while nursing, too. Very, very little gets into breastmilk. I would think nothing of using ornithine while b/f'ing either. Many people think that I'm being wreckless w/my baby's health when they find out I take these things while b/f'ing. Honestly, I believe it is a lot more wreckless to drink coffee, diet soda, junk food, antidepressants or any other drug, etc. while you're b/f'ing. Good luck w/your flush! Guest guest
Hi I recently joined the group and already I have got so much info from you guys, thanks heaps. I am considering a flush I was diagnosed with gallstones just before Christmas. I had been doing the Liver cleansing diet for about 12weeks before I was diagnosed with no gallstone attacks. It was when we went on holidays and I ate a lot of 'rubbish' that I started getting attacks. Since being home and back to eating better I haven't had an attack since Christmas eve. The reason I didn't do a flush before when I started the LCD was because I didn't think I could stomach it, but the more I read, the easier it looks, lol. I am taking Livatone tablets also. I am also breastfeeding an 11month old. I see someone mention Stone free. I looked it up, and there is a warning to not use it while breastfeeding. Is that just your run of the mill warning they have with everything or should you really avoid it whild breastfeeding? Will Apple juice for 5 days (how much is it again??) do the same thing? Thanks for your help in advance Tan
Guest guest
Traci, Black Walnut can reduce your milk supply, but is safe for nursing. http://www.kellymom.com/herbal/ref/herbs_b.html#bwalnut Epsom salts are perfectly safe for a nursing mother http://www.kellymom.com/health/meds/aap-approved-meds.html If you are a nursing mom, please bookmark the above site and have it on hand any time you need to find out about a herb or medication while nursing. I have completed gallbladder flushes with no seen effects on any of my nurslings. Guest guest
Thanks for the information Kerry Ann. I am currently nursing my 10 month old, he is our 4th Blessing. I am SO excited about doing the flush, I had planned to wait until I'm done nursing but who knows when that will be. I have not been having gb attacks, but I have been having pain in my right and left upper abdomen. It's uncomfortable and I just need to do something now.
