Steve,

80% of all people who have gallstones never feel anything. I am assuming

since she has had no pain or other indicators that the sonogram was for

suposedly different reasons. While the other reasons may be connected, at this

womans age she may go the rest of her life with no complications from the stone.

Also at her age, the digestive processes needed for dissolution and elimination

will be slowing down and may effect the efficacy of natural treatment. What was

the sonogram performed for? Always, in all ways, -Dave

Subject: assessing concern re: a 1-cm gallstone

Hi gallstones,

Schmuel

A friends of mine helps care for an active, spry 85-year-young woman who

handles most health issues through natural methods.

A sonogram showed a 1-cm gallstone, quantity one. No particular pain

or discomfit has occurred.

How large is that, how much of a short-term or medium-term threat to

become a pain or health issue ?

The woman might be happy to do a cleansing program, (apple juice, olive

oil, etc)

or to simply modify her diet if it seemed appropriate, on the other hand she

wants a

fairly accurate 'risk assessment'. I figure that is more likely to be found

here than

anywhere else :-)

Any thoughts ?

Shalom,

Avery

wow!

She is one of the lucky ones...very lucky to not

experience pain.

Many people do have " silent stones "

I'm not an expert but if I were her, I'd modify my

diet and take herbs that shrink stones.

The doctor may suggest surgery but if there's no pain,

modifying the diet and getting acquainted with herbs

that can actually dissolve gallstones would be my

approach.

I know this sounds very simple but in the meantime she

should drink lots of water, avoid processed foods,

like breads pastas, cookies, sodas.

Eat plenty of veggies, like cauliflower, broccoli,

kale, carrots, green beanst etc.

fruits and healthy nuts

I guess that would be to help her body not make more

of them.

Best of luck!

Thanks and Dave,

Her bilirubin was off, low, on a blood test, so the sonogram picked this up

while looking at liver, etc.

I will pass on the suggestions and info, she does have a reasonably good diet as

is, but could improve. She did have some intestine surgery, and some removal,

years back (I forgot to mention), not Crohn's and I dunno the details offhand.

That could also have effected her system.

All in all she does well, and she has done a good job avoiding drugs and surgery

over the years. She is even counseling her son to try to avoid some of that

infamous back surgery, and is actively checking out alternatives (for herself

and him) !
