Thyroxine advice and question ....

Hi all,

I've been diagnosed Hashi's and have been on 25 mcg Levothyroxine now for 7 days, and up to yesterday I felt a subtle improvement. Aches and pains subsided, temps up a fraction, mood improved, more energy - all was fine. I was taking 1 NAE (was on 4/day pre Levothyroxine) in addition to the thyroxine.

However, yesterday my heartbeat was increasing. I have a fast heartbeat anyway (fast, but not irregular) of 80+, but yesterday it was beating a lot, so I took a second NAE before 1 pm - thought I could do with the extra Vit B complex and additional magnesium in it to calm down my heart beat - strangely in the evening I had more palpitations, but not frighteningly so.

Today I've again taken 2x1 NAE, and of course my 25 mcg Levothyroxine - the heartbeat is back to 'normal'. Felt fine until the afternoon, but now the aches and pains have come back. I am longing to up the thyroxine, but dare not ....- Should I ?? or should I take it easy and wait for another week on the low dose?

And one other question, please.

About 2 weeks ago (before starting on Thyroxine) I woke in the night with a 'constant' (muscle??) pain in my chest, which seem to reach from my neck muscle to just underneath my sternum. Something that I believe (rightly or wrongly ??) originates from extremely tight neck muscles. I can not breathe 'deeply' , it hurt too much. I could not lie on my left side (excruciating pain), but could lie on my right side (just) and my back. This pain has not gone. I had my holistic therapist work away at those neck muscles for nearly an hour, and the pain got much better thereafter, could even lie on my left side ... but then got steadily worse again. The pain is so hard to describe, but every time I breathe deeply it hurts (a lot) and I can't totally breathe through, if that makes sense. - Has anybody experienced that??? - btw. there is no shooting pain going into either arm, it is just underneath the sternum - so I don't think it is angina (says she, who has never experienced anything like it before <G>). Since I've had it now constantly for nearly 2 weeks, I am getting a little concerned.... - Any ideas?

Thanks,
