WAY too much discussion about cortef and the like. Some of us believe it

treats a symptom instead of addressing the underlying nutritional deficiency...

whatever that may be.

The questions and discussions on how to begin taking

Iodoral while on Cortef are on-topic.

They are also needed and important to those of us who

would like as much information as possible on

interactions between the two drugs, dosing schedules,

amounts, reactions, experiences, and safety.

And, there's always the delete key for posts and

topics that you find to be irrelevant.

I have ZERO interest in hormone replacement, but I can skim to find

interesting posts.

You may be right. Much of it is irrelevant.

I think I'm finding my need for Cortef is a lot lower when taking iodine.

That is relevant.

Part of the problem is the hormone issues go together, as iodine is related

to the thyroid, and may also be strongly related to the adrenals. Iodine

may also be relevant to the hormones the adrenals produce, yet no one is

saying their needs or labs have significantly changed on iodine therapy,

which does make it mostly irrelevant, except for helping individuals.

Not all adrenals problems are caused by nutritional deficiencies. Mercury

is known as " a specific adrenal toxin. " Since it also affects the thyroid,

I'm not sure why it's " specific " but that's a common statement I've found.

It could be iodine helps the adrenals by removing the mercury.

Adrenal problems can also be caused by disease. TB and AIDS are the biggest

known causes of 's Disease. I'm sure there are other causes, again,

not a nutritional issue.

Low Vitamin C will cause adrenal issues, in both the underactive and

overactive sides. The biggest concentration of Vitamin C in the body is in

the adrenal tissue. Maybe it has something to do with its disease fighting

capabilities. Vitamin C also helps lower excessive cortisol production.

So, it can be a nutritional issue.
