Guest guest
>>>But I would like to try a few possible alternatives. I'm not sure at all about the flush and using lecithan seems to cause a soreness in my GB that concerns me. I'm macrobiotic so I rarely eat very fatty<<< There is no signature on this, not sure who wrote it? But am concerned about your diet...you are not eating a fatty diet, but are you getting good " fat " from good oils...like olive oil, flax seed oil, etc? I am guessing you are, they are necessary in general, but also if there is no oil/fat in the diet, there isn't enough stimulation of the liver and gallbladder to produce bile, which digests fats and oils, so you end up with a sluggish liver/gallbladder, and more potential for stones and sludge. Also, the tenderness you feel when using lecithan is probably the fact that it is stimulating that area...not necessarily a bad thing, but a reminder that you have some work to do to restore the liver/gallbladder. Generally doctors will tell you to take a low or no fat diet with gallbladder trouble to keep you from having an attack, but this is not the best thing for the body, or the liver and gallbladder. Are you concerned about doing the flush? I am not sure whether you've posted on this already, but have you had an ultrasound and seen how large your stones are? It's amazing what you can pass, I just did my latest flush Sunday pm and this morning was still passing stones. Since I waited a year and passed so many, I may do this again in a couple of weeks, after the holidays. This discussion list really picks up around this time of year with all the rich holiday eating :-) Keep on asking questions and learning! http://happynutritionist.com/gallbladder.html L. I think I do have a decent balance of fat, protein and carbs in my diet. When I said I wasn't eating a fatty diet I was referring to the usual " American on the go, part fast food, lots of fried foods, little in the way of fish or veggies " sort of diet. But yes, of course I eat fats - just not fatty fried in vegetable oil type foods. > Also, the tenderness you feel when using lecithan is probably > the fact that it is stimulating that area...not necessarily a bad > thing, but a reminder that you have some work to do to restore > the liver/gallbladder. I thought this was a possibility but was also being advised from a doctor in law that I should be really careful if I was feeling that same soreness I had in the aftermath of the recent attack I had - so afraid I might be making matters worse, I opted to stop any diet suppliments I had decided to try in my quest to treat my gallstones in some other way besides removing the gallbladder > Are you concerned about doing the flush? Yes I am concerned, and yes my ultrasound says " multi stones up to 1cm " > It's amazing what you can pass, I just did my latest flush Sunday > pm and this morning was still passing stones.
