The girls endo visit…Heidi

Heidi’s blood work looked like this:

8/28/07

TSH 0.290

FT4 0.78 (0.50-1.60)

FT3 3.7 (2.1-3.7) ordered by the ped. (on synthroid 75 mcg/ cytomel 12.5

mcg, no iodoral yet)

and 1/8/08

TSH 6.370

FT4 0.59 (0.50-1.60)

No FT3 this time

Heidi takes synthroid 75 mcg and cytomel 12.5 mcg along with a

multi vit, the following supplements added on 11/15/07: thyrosol

(metagenics), magnesium, “blood builder” and Iodoral 25 mg.

The endo also wants her off Iodoral, too. He will not order

Armour till she’s off a month and has another TSH & FT4 done. I think with

Heidi I can just put her on armour on my own & get away with it. The thing

is on the records it would still say she’s on Synthroid/ Cytomel, but I

would actually be giving her Armour. The only time I see that would be a

problem is when they go away for the weekend to a respite house. The respite

house requires written scripts from the dr. It’s only 2 days though, so if

she took S/C for 2 days, it would be OK wouldn’t it? Please comment.

I will be asking her ped. to order Armour. She will do the frees if I

ask her to, so maybe Heidi's problem will be more easily solved.
