Hi :)

I think it was Sunflower 413 who has

been recommending a book called " The Thyroid Solution "

by Ridha Arem. I just got it in the mail so I am not

too far into it yet. But maybe you should give it a

read. Your number at 3 is way better than mine, which

is 6.5 now and my doctor seems to think that is ok.

Dr. Arem's book says really, the best number is close

to where yours is, maybe ideally a bit lower.

However, he discusses T3 a lot as being very important.

I'm sorry I haven't read enough to give you more

info; in some cases I see he suggests both T4

(synthroid) and T3 (cytomel, I think?) medication. I want to

finish the book before I suggest that to my doctor. Hope

this helps a bit.

Marcia

HI, I'M GLAD YOU WROTE IN, AND I SEE I'M NOT

ALONE EITHER. HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD THYROID PROBLEMS? I

ALWAYS THINK I'M GOING TO GET BETTER, BUT IT NEVER

HAPPENS! I'M ALWAYS TIRED TOO, AND I JUST FEEL LIKE I'M

SICK ALL THE TIME WITH THE FLU. I ALSO TAKE SYNTHROID

200 MCG, AND DID THE RADIOACTIVE IODINE TO TAKE OUT

MY THYROID. I SOMETIMES WONDER IF THATS WHAT DID IT,

OR IF IT'S NOT HAVING A WORKING PART OF YOUR OWN

BODY ANYMORE IS THE ANSWER? AFTER ALL, WHEN THEY GAVE

ME THE RADIOACTIVE IODINE...NO ONE ELSE WAS IN THE

ROOM...THEY HANDED IT TO ME VIA A CUP CONNECTED TO A LONG

HANDLE. I ASKED THE GUY IF I WAS GOING TO GLOW IN THE

DARK AFTER TAKING IT...HE JUST LAUGHED. DO YOU HAVE

PROBLEMS WITH YOUR EYES TOO? MINE BOTHER ME ALL THE TIME,

THEY BURN AND FEEL LIKE SOMETHING IS IN THEM. HOPE

YOUR FEELING OK. MAGGIE.

HI. I had hyperthyroidism for around 5 years and

couldn't decide what to do about it.I had done alot of

research on it . I had read somewhere that sometimes it

could be caused by a virus, stress and other things, so

I opted to go off of my PTU for a year, well ,

guess what it returned much to my dismay. Anyway I

guess Ive been hypothyroid for around 2 1/2 years. My

dosage is 0.075mcg, and Ive been on that dosage for

about a year. My eyes dont really bother me although I

did have to get glasses. I just attributed that to

old age Ha-Ha. I am very tired all the time though. I

would like to exercise, but dont have the energy to do

it, isnt that sad? Someone mentioned a book I think

it was called the Thyroid Solution, I think I " ll try

reading it for some info on dieting and exercise. Please

feel free to e-mail meanytime, its nice to talk to

someone with similar problems and maybe we can help each

other out.
