Guest guest
Hi there... I'm new here and trying to learn what I can with limited time. I have my own holistic parenting online group as well as ozone, colloidal silver etc. AND 2 small kids at home!! LOL phew lots of reading and research.... just curious if I can paint a little lugol's on my 18 month old and 4.5 yr olds wrists or inside arm same as I do for myself? I have read arm and wrist- which is better? I have read some articles in the files section so far. I am wondering if anyone has any experience directly with working with iodine and kids? I suspect I didn't have near enough when pregnant and nursing. I have noticed my 18 mo dd is growing noticeably since I started taking lugol's. My 4.5 yr old is small for his age (although I'm only 5'2 " ) and I wonder if that could be connected. Despite our holistic approach to childbirth and diet etc. my children still (and I) have LOTS of food sensitivities (tested with electrodermal testing) AND their hair analysis are horrible. Afte rthe kids and I had whooping cough last year I took them in to find out where we were at. Both kids have unacceptable aluminum levels and my youngest high lead levels. My son's iodine levels showed .84 (normal being 0.8-1.6). Both kids are off the chart low in zinc, phosphorus and really low in strontiumm, sodium, and magnesium. There are others minerals that are not quite as bad...with iron and manganese being wayyyy high. Although many things appear in the normal range they are close to being low. Anyhow I muse alot about what I have passed to them through my breast milk. I have a friend with 2 autistic boys and their hair analysis is almost the same as my kids and they are very similar to their mother. My kids seem fine, smart, fun loving, kind and very active kids with no 'noticeable' things (unless they eat process4ed foods! eek. it's been yrs since i had a hair anaylsis but i recall i was high in lead too. anyhow, sorry about that, I got blabbing.... sigh i know iodine might just be part of the picture. my dad tells me we have thyroid issues in my family.... thanks wendy
Guest guest
Hi , I am very new to all of the iodine stuff. I too am very into health and nutrition. My kids are similar in that they are smaller, thinner than I would like or that I think is optimal health. Two of my three have gluten intolerance. I didn't eat as well as I should have while pregnant or nursing. I have decided after reading to just give them the iodine. I am giving them (and hubby and me) the Liqui-Dulse. It was all I could find that had both iodine and iodide in it, unfortunately it does have a preservative. But I am giving them 4 drops for now, 225 mcg. I am curious to see what you notice if you decide to supplement them. Please post it. Debi > > Hi there... > > I'm new here and trying to learn what I can with limited time.
