Pregnenolone and thyroid dump

Hi.

Just wondering if anyone knows if using Pregnenolone will cause a

thyroid dump like HC? I've been on Armour at 4.5 grains for about 2/3

years but over the last few months been experiencing major adrenal

symptoms. Had my salivary cortisol done at NPTech which showed that

although it is 'normal' it is just scraping along the bottom reference

range. My DHEA is also low. Have tried Nutri Adrenal but it makes me

feel just awful. I have ordered some HC but it hasn't arrived yet and

as I already had Pregnenolone to hand thought I would give it a go at a

really low dose (2.5mg). Within a couple of hours felt good but after 3

or 4 I was aware of feeling really hyper, my BP right up at 145/90

(usually about 105/60), pulse up to 95 (usually sits around 60), pain

in my chest, mind racing, and last night couldn't get to sleep then

waking up at 6.30am (I have been experiencing severe fatigue for months

so the change is really extreme). I haven't taken any Pregnenolone or

Armour this morning because I don't want it to happen again (especially

the chest pain). Anybody got any thoughts or advice?

Hi hon

Sounds like a bit of a thyroid dump to me. Your pregnenalone is the

precursor for all the hormones of the adrenals so it is a good thing

to boost them; however, higher adrenal hormones equals ability of

thyroid hormones to be utilized better might be why you felt hyper.

It might be a good idea to drop your armour a little and feel your way

to your sweet spot again. You should not have too much trouble if you

introduce the support gently and then put the Armour to the right dose

again. You may not need so much but then again you may do, it just

depends.

I would take the dose of hc or preg once the T3 in armour is out of

your system 24 hours or so then start the armour again at a slightly

lower dose. You will be able to feel what is happening then.
