Guest guest
I am on a search to find out how much iodine is safe in pregnancy. I am 34, healthy, have been taking iodine for the last six months as a general detox. I have been taking it in the form of lugol's solution and probably averaged about 10 drops daily and for some time did go up to about 20 drops daily. I feel great on iodine, it helps me sleep better, I am more energetic and positive, my allergies don't bother me etc. Now I plan to start trying to get pregnant this month. I cut my iodine down to a drop a day in preparation for pregnancy. I really want to increase it as I feel so much better on higher doses but can't find anything very definitive as to whether it is safe. I did find on helpmythyroid.com a suggestion that one of the iodine docs would advise one iodoral daily. Has anyone found any info on this? I have read extensively and can't find anything. thanks, Judith
