Guest guest
Hi Sheila Could you send me a note of any drs who will prescribe Armour in Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cumbria or N Yorkshire? An interest in adrenal low reserve would be a bonus. Thanks. Chris
Guest guest
Getting an NHS doctor to recognise low adrenal reserve is nigh impossible. They recognise 's disease only and will not treat low adrenal reserve. This is an area you may have to get tested yourself, and if found wanting, then treating them yourself. I have sent you a list privately of doctors. Luv - Sheila Hi SheilaCould you send me a note of any drs who will prescribe Armour inLancashire, Greater Manchester, Cumbria or N Yorkshire? Guest guest
> > Hi Dawn he says that the endocrinologists would " laugh at me " . I told him this was quite terrible when it states on the Patient Information Leaflet that is in with Levothyroxine, that patients should tell their doctor if they have low adrenal reserve and should hot be started on levothyroxine until this is treated. He responded by saying that only meant people with 's Disease. I told him if it meant 's, it would have said 's. Hi Dawn Sorry you're having such a bad time. How bad are your adrenals according to the ASI? I understand you've been taking quite a cocktail of other things which you're trying to establish the effects of, but is the HC cream the only adrenal support you're taking? Sorry if I've missed stuff and am asking you to repeat yourself. I always feel so bad for you when I read your posts and I just wondered about the adrenal support. x
Guest guest
> Hi , here is the readout of my adrenal function TEST REFERENCE RANGES (NMOL/L) Salivary Cortisol 8.00am 12 Noon 4.00pm Midnight 12.0 to 33.0 10.0 to 28.0 6.0 to 11.8 1.0 to 5.0 12.2 8.0* 10.5 13.0* Salivary DHEA Sulphate 8.00am 12 Noon 4.00pm Midnight 7.0 to 18.3 4.8 to 8.2 3.5 to 6.0 2.0 to 4.0 FEMALE AGE RANGE 45-54 YEARS 4.3* 6.5 5.6 2.9 DHEA-s reference range stated is age and gender related Salivary Cortisol profile: All values are either borderline or below reference range indicating poor/compromised hormone output on the cortisol pathway. In addition midnight result is above reference range Salivary DHEA-s profile: Slightly erratic hormone output; Overall profile indicates normal hormone output Then there are my meds to which I just added B12 drops and feel somewhat better today but it must be placebo surely sublingual B12 wouldn't work that fast? Other stuff I am on here goes lol Paxil/Seroxat epam Olmatec Thiazide Diuretic Vit C Vitamin B sublingual drops started today Vitamin B12 sublingual drops started today Multivit Selenium ACE Calcium and Mag with D Cod liver Oil 200mg magnesium The adrenal supplement Biomax ACE 12.5mg HC cream Armour 1 1/2 grains Occasional Ferrograd C Phew, I think that is everything Thanks for your thoughts . I keep having these horrible times, but I think all in all if I put a trend line to it I am slowly improving. I just get scared. Especially since the first really bad illness I had was the panic anxiety nervous breakdown which I now suspect was thyroid illness in some form. I wasn't tested for thyroid problems till much later and by that time I had been medicated for a long time by the psychiatric profession who never looked into any physiological causes leaving me with all this baggage. We are having a lot of stress regarding housing as well, I need a bigger house so everyone can live there and not have to keep on a flat which is often empty because my son comes to stay a lot. I try not to think too much and the illness usually obliges me on that front lmao . I hope you are getting help now hon, that you can see a way forward. lotsa luv and God bless Dawnx > Hi Dawn > > Sorry you're having such a bad time. Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Have you considered taking you HC in pill form as I'm a bit concerned that there may be thinning of the skin with continued HC cream I found that adding DHEA seemed to make a subtle but definite difference in that now I'm well I am now able to reduce my cortisol meds. I get my DHEA from Biovea. Guest guest
> Thanks for your thoughts . I keep having these horrible >times, Hello Dawn Thanks for your reply. Sorry for the delay in replying myself. It's been one of those weeks when it's been hard getting my head around things. I'm always really interested in your posts because of your background and your experiences with the pyschiatric profession. I too put some of my present difficulties down to my brush with them when I was younger. I maintain to this day that some of the drugs I had back then did something to me that I've never fully recovered from. And would you believe my initial complaint was pharyngitis! I understand completly what you say about being left with baggage. Just like you as well we've had housing problems that have caused a lot of stress. It's hard isn't it because you know your poor old adrenals need a break but circumstances keep throwing you a curve ball. So it's good that we try to support our adrenals in some way. I'll carry on following your posts with great interest. I hope you get help with sorting out about the interaction of all your meds. So glad the you say, in spite of everything, that you think you're slowly improving. Lots of good wishes x
