Guest guest
Hi Dan, I've heard studies show many herbs don't work yet lots of people find relief..I wonder why? At this time I'm off all prescription meds, everything. The Neurologist that put me on Cymbalta (antidepressant) 6 months ago to help with pain in my body and migraines was very put off when I told her I was using Black Cohosh tea and Red Raspberry Leaf tea for perimenopause symptoms. She was concerned because my blood pressure shot up and she was sure it was the Black Cohosh, strongly suggested I not use it anymore. All I knew was that the Cymbalta works on the neoepinephrine (fight or flight) so I followed my own instincts, got myself detoxed off the Cymbalta, kept taking the Black Cohosh (and other herbs that I felt were helpful to me). I've gone back once to see her and seen my gynecologist and both times my blood pressure was back down to normal levels again. I also found out that one of the side effects of Cymbalta is excessive sweating..not a helpful side effect to one suffering hot flashes LOL... The other bad side effect is constipation! No way could I continue that road. I've been taking a Tablespoon of the Glucosamine/Chondroitin each morning and evening and have found immediate relief from pain and stiffness in my hands, rotorcuff, etc.. No side effects like Cymbalta. The muscle relaxer has been so helpful while I work night shift as I'm in all types of positions at different work stations. Somehow they relax the muscles, not the mind. I come home and rub the arches and heels of my feet with pure Lavender Oil and for some reason I find immediate relief from the aches. One night I came home with such achy feet and almost by instinct reached for the L EO. When I realized how fast it worked I went to a web site that has all types of descriptive info. about what herbs are said to do what (http://www.viable-herbal.com). Apparently Lavender is used as a topical to soothe muscles. Last night my hubby and I went out and ate crab/shrimp. It was very spicy and my stomach immediately began to pitch a fit on me. I'm finding that if I drink a cup of peppermint tea when I have heart burn or any stomach gas it immediately soothes my stomach, again, not sure why but it works for me.
