Hello--
I've been reading so many posts about

great endo's, and I think I've just had horrible luck

w/mine and I was not really impressed w/her in the

least.
I seem to be getting a hard time because my thyroid

is " normal " and still producing all that it

" should " .
but I have a lot of very REAL symptoms OF SOMETHING.

it's just a matter of figuring out what it is.
I've

noticed that my neck (goiter) has grown a LOT, recently,

and more on the right side of my neck.

(weird).
Also, I've been having some break through

migraines--which to ME seems to say that something is not right

w/the thyroid.
I've noticed too that I'm VERY

INTOLERABLE to cold as of late. I mean, I'm in the living

room freezing, with socks and jackets on and the whole

9, and my mom is sittin on the couch and she has her

pj's on and is fine. I'm shivering and she's fine.

doesn't sit right.
Also, I've been REALLY tired again

these last few days. I've gone to bed around 8 PM this

whole weekend, and I seem to have flare up of

allergies. I've not read anything about a correlation

between allgeries and thyroid, but something is just not

right. probably because I don't have a very good immune

system.
any words are very WELCOME.
I do have an

appt. on Wed. with my MD to talk to him FACE TO FACE

and plead my case. He's usually very good w/me, and I

hope that he will be willing to increase the levoxyl

(or at least trying something else) because there is

SOMETHING that just is not right w/me.
whew. I'm done.

:)
--

Ask your doctor to do a full panel to rule out

that it's the Thyroid. Also, have them check your

cholesterol. I have a cousin with thyroid and cholesterol

problems-his TSH keeps coming back normal but his cholesterol

is very high and he still has all the symptoms.

Last time I looked you can't take any sort of medical degree at OU.

Endocrinology is only one specialism out of hundreds but you need at least 2

years of your medical degree first before you can specialise. The main problem

with endos and other specialists is the way they are taught, they 'cram' a book

til they know it off by heart and take their exam, then they pick up the next

book and cram that til they know it off by heart and take their exam, in my view

they never pick up any of their books again once they have passed their exams!!

Glynis

" open Uni course and it wouldnt take much to graduate and get qualified.I have

my reservations but they are convinced.I wonder why people on the forum hasnt

thought of this as a way forward. As there are so few real thyroid

specialists, why has no-one looked in to becoming one themselves? Which the

knowledge of people on the forum and the support of people like Dr.P,I think its

highly feasable!Lets face it,people on this forum know far more about hypo and

treatments than these endoprats do! So could there be anyone interested here? "

Your probably right, thats what I thought. If it was that easy we'd all be doctors for the title and the money! I am astounded and very confused as to why Endocrynologists seem to think they are God like! I know you get other doctors that act the same, but very few in comparisum to what seems to be ALL Endo's!

Best wishes sharon
