Guest guest
Dear Sheila and other members, I have been taking Armour for nearly a year now (I am up to 3 grains a day) but I am still feeling really awful and I am starting to wonder if I am doing all that I can to help myself. I am self medicating because my doctor will not recognise that I could possibly have a thyroid problem but I am now starting to have doubts that I am on the right track myself. I've just had the results of my latest blood tests back from NPTech and it looks as if my T3 is rather low but I'm not sure what this really means, could someone please interpret the results for me and let me know what they think. Guest guest
Hi It seems you have a T3 problem and if you were taking thyroxine I would say you have a conversion problem but as you are not and you are taking armour which contains T3 and T4 then I dont know but others on here might, sorry. Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I'd say you could with some T3 added as it's too low, looks like a conversion problem. I think the T4 could possibly be a little higher too, have you tried taking more than 3 grains to see what happens? Ferritin could be a little higher, 70-90 is optimal, was quite low a year ago but improved. Have you thought about candida and possible deficiencies. I think selenium is supposed to help the conversion process and possibly other things so may be an idea to supplement to see if it helps, it'll say on the TPA website somewhere about that I think. Have you seen any improvement at all on the Armour? Have you any symptoms that may suggest that there is something other than just your thyroid that is causing problems? I'm sure some other members will comment and hopefully give you some ideas. Guest guest
Dear Sharon Sounds like you need more Armour. But have you considered your adrenals? After 3 months on Armour and NAE X4 my symptoms started to return. I am now taking Hydrocortisone it is early days yet but the fatigue is already lifting! Think about your adrenals. Guest guest
Shiela is right on as always. TSH says NOOO I don't want any more T3 your adrenals cannot handle that much energy, and the clue that you have some T4 available for conversion but the T3 is low bacause the body is putting on the brakes by not bothering to convert it. lotsa luv Dawnx
