Guest guest
Hi, I'm a new member. I've been taking Synthroid for about 2 months now for hypothyroidism. I also have mitral valve prolapse (MVP). (MVP is a condition that makes you feel your heart beating. I got checked out and found that it is not serious.) When I started taking the Synthroid, my doctor said it might make my heart race because of the MVP. Well it did. So he put me on a drug called Lopressor. It helped. Then the doctor increased my Synthroid, which started my heart pumping hard again. He reduced it. It got better. However, sometime when I am laying down or sitting very still, I can feel my heart pumping, not in my chest, but in my back, or head. I do not shake, but I feel nervous inside. It is very faint, but it's there. I don't know if it is that I'm taking too high a dose of Synthroid (.088) or from the MVP.<br>I really have no other symptoms. I'm not due for a blood test for another two months. Any comments or suggestions?
