Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I'm new here and need your help. Two weeks ago, a couple of hours after each of three successive normal meals, I had serious stomach pain. The Internet led me to suspect gall bladder problems. My doctor ordered blood work, which was OK, and an ultrasound, which showed no stones, but the presence of sludge. Today I got the results of a HIDA scan with CCK, which showed an estimated ejection fraction of 17%. My doctor says that my gall bladder is diseased and that there is no option besides removal, and referred me to a surgeon. I have not had another attack, but do have almost constant mild pain and excessive gas. There were no symptoms leading up to the 3 attacks, and I have never had any other health problems of any type. My diet, while not as good as it could be, is decent. I gave up meat, poultry, and fast food 20+ years ago and eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and legumes. As soon as I suspected gall bladder problems, I eliminated all dairy products, eggs, and unhealthy oils (I used to have one junky dessert each day, usually potato chips or a baked good). I exercise most days. My father, an alcoholic, had gallstones and a great deal of pain for many years before finally having his gall bladder removed in his 40's. I have spent most of today searching online for information, and am so overwhelmed now that I don't know what to do. I do not want to have this gall bladder removed unless it is absolutely necessary, but am worried now about the possibility of infection or cancer (yes, I've learned this is rare, but my grandfather, father, and sister died of cancer). I am not a fan of western medicine and surgery, and would like to attempt to treat this using natural methods, if it is possible, before giving in to surgery. Any pointers or suggestions, particularly from those of you with a similar situation, would be most appreciated. Thanks,
