Couldnt we compile all our comments and email them to the journalist? Lee might know how to submit comments in the same way as the DM, limited to 100 characters and then they could be put in one email to the journalist? the've seen the reaction to this story, surely they will be interested to hear more with a view to doing more stories?

One of my friends has a friend who works for the Express and she is going to contact her re doing a bit about thyroid too.

I really think the time is right with this article to find the Oliver of thyroid illness - we need a champion with a public image that will get on TV and radio and get more stories into the papers. Do we know anyone with a thyroid illness who is likely to take this on - or at least who has a relative/friend with hypoT (if they have hypoT themselves they probably have no energy, like most of us!!!).

Not so long ago I completed a distance course in journalism. I love

writing and have the Writer and Artist's Year Book with all the

names of editors, phone numbers, emails etc plus all the info about

what their protocols are for accepting articles etc. It's quite

important to get that right in the first instance or else you don't

even cross the first hurdle.

I emphasise that I'm a novice both in journalisn amd thyroid stuff

but if I can help in any way, I'd be delighted to. I'd be prepared

to do anything - research, write, edit, whatever.
