Hi everyone,

I've been to my doc this morning and he has increased my Levo from

50mcg to 200mcg daily...he said to take 100mcg twice daily. I am

delighted that he has finally acknowledged the hypo as the reason for

my myriad symptoms but I wonder about this steep increase.

I did feel the benefit of the 50mcg for a wee while then felt that my

symptoms were worsening again. I have been on 50 for about 5-6 weeks

and over the last couple of weeks have had terrible oedema and

problems with my carpal tunnel...terrible pains. I have also had a

lot of joint pain in shoulders, elbows and knees and the pain in my

toes returned as did the tingling in toes and hands. When I told the

doc he said I needed more Levo and that would help...meanwhile take

some paracetamol for the pain. I've not to get any more blood tests

at the moment.

I'm having a pretty bad time at the moment...healthwise I am so

knackered and in pain, family wise my kids are showing signs of

depression because of my illness (I am a widow with two teenaged

boys), financially I am in dire straits because I can't work and I am

neck deep in debt. I also need to let my course director at the

university know if I will be returning in September to complete my

teaching course (I had to withdraw because of ill health)...and I

don't know if I will be well...if I go back and am off again I will

fail and I have completed 95% of the course with only one 6 week

school placement to do. Sorry this is a long message but my bad

health is at the root of everything and I am struggling. Any advice

would be appreciated.
