Guest guest
Hi Tracey, Usually on blood tests, but if there is a bit of head room and you are still symptomatic then a small dose increase is usually offered A full replacement dose is usually around 125 to 150. folk who need more than this will usually do better with Armour or replacing some of the T4 with T3. Don't forget to keep a diary of doses tests and symptoms- could be very useful if the T4 doesn't do it for you and you have to go private at a later date or see an endo. I'm hoping the dosage gets raised as I'm not feeling any different on the 50 mcg. I think my mum is on 200mcg though I'm hoping I don't end up having to go quite that far to get an improvement! Is there any way of telling when you have reached the optimum dosage on levothyroxine? Or is it all judged by blood test results and their many shortcomings? Thanks, Tracey ------------------------------------ Messages are not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult with a suitably qualified practitioner before changing medication.
