Guest guest
Just posted two lots of comments under different email addresses and both have been accepted, but there still aren't any showing on the article. Let's hope they've been inundated with them & we get a full page 'Letters page' of replies printed in a few days. Well done Sheila for getting our message across to the author of the article - like you say - it is the best we have seen yet. Just to up-date on myself (), since seeing Dr P in December at Sheila's & although Armour had been working well since October, I reached a Hyper stage again (very frustrating) which even I could work out was that I wasn't converting. He told me to try T3 again which didn't work three months ago (went Hyper straightaway due to bad Adrenals), but this time after three months of Adrenal supplementation it is working (fingers crossed), albeit at low dosage. It is wonderful to feel the foggy head clearing, it's like someone switching on a tap to your brain for the first time in nine years - all the other symptoms are still there, but I realise it is going to take time. I am to reintroduce Armour slowly along with it, but again only at small doses to allow Adrenals time to heal. I still get episodes of complete exhaustion, but I can now work out in my own head what is going wrong. To those who have been apprehensive about taking HC my attitude now, under Dr P's supevision is that if you need it, you have to have it (the Thyroid won't work without it) & you just have to get on with it. It is becoming clear that I go shakey when I need more Thyroid and so the Adrenals are protesting at a lack of it and therefore once the Thyroid problem is sorted the adrenals will come back on line and the HC can be reduced and hopefully done away with in time to come. I'll keep you up-dated.

Hi , it is going to be a very busy week (or 2 or 3...). I have already had 6 messages from the article wanting more information. I am telling them all the join the forum where they can get as much information as they wish, and enjoy a good chat at the same time. Actually, it was another lady who got Jerome Burne to actually attend the GMC - so it is all praise to her. Without her, we would never have got this article. I met him there and had a chat, and we have kept in touch ever since, but yes, I did send him a lot of information. I have just written to Shomon the guide on the About.com/thyroid as she is in the States. I asked her if whe could use the article as a flagship on a health problem that affects millions of Americans and get it syndicated in The New York Times. Not sure how I would find out if it ever appears, but it would be absolutely great if it was. > Just to up-date on myself (), since seeing Dr P in December at > Sheila's & although Armour had been working well since October, I > reached a Hyper stage again (very frustrating) which even I could > work out was that I wasn't converting. I am delighted the T3 is working for you. I know that there were two other patients Dr P recommended they start using T3 alone, one, like you, is doing extremely well, and the other (Lee) isn't quite sure yet what is happening, but she has this very bad coughing virus and asthma, so that is getting in the way. So many people have no idea that they could be suffering with low adrenal reserve when their medication fails to work as it should. Glad to hear you have got your brain back - my brain was the first thing I got back when I started Armour, and I will never forget how wonderful I felt. > To those who have been apprehensive about taking HC my attitude now, > under Dr P's supevision is that if you need it, you have to have it > (the Thyroid won't work without it) & you just have to get on with > it. The problem is that the negative information about using Cortef has come from doctors who clearly do not understand it, or have simply not done any research on it. In the case of ANY hormone that is becoming depleted, just like the thyroid, you simply have to replace it. Thanks for this info . I hope the members of TPA-UK will be able to have another 'get together' in Yorkshire sometime in April. I will try to arrange it so Dr Peatfield can do another metabolic clinic in my cottage, so if anybody would like a consultation with him at that time, I would start booking a place. Anybody who is interested in coming to our 'get together' please let me know. We have a great time and it is a great way to put a face to the name.> > Luv - Sheila>
Guest guest
> > Hi Sheila With regard to when reintroducing Armour to the T3, I already have, but only half of quarter a grain (7.5) which dosen't sound a lot, but when I was on it alone and doing well I was taking 22 and although to get rid of all symptoms I can obviously do with an awful lot more, those adrenals won't allow at present, but the improvement at 22 was so brilliant to me that I could see the potential - so patience it has got to be for now. I don't want to increase it back up to the level I was at before (although this is Dr P's idea) until I have worked out for myself that T3 is working at better levels because to my mind if I increase both together and something goes wrong I won't know which is the culprit. I have worked out it is a fine line at the moment between upsetting the adrenals because they can't cope with all that thyroid being thrown in and I go toxic, but wow, if I don't get enough thyroid they soon protest as well and within two hours of taking dose again they start behaving themselves ! I'll boss them eventually. Speak soon > > > > Hi , > > When will you be starting to introduce the Armour to your T3 ?
