Guest guest
Thank you so much for your support. I am not sure about the TSH I think the shrink said Thyroid hormone was 1.7 and thats not the same as TSH so I have been trying to search for that on internet - unsuccesfully. No one can tell me why my cholesterol decided to rise in recent months and why I have so many symptoms they just say that it could be one of many other conditions my weight went up inappropriately now I am the first to admit when I have overeaten and have always been dieting BUT following an extremely exhausting weekend walking around Paris and Disneyland Paris I only ate small amounts at meal times and gained weight. I also gained weight whilst recovering from surgery despite eating less. Well I am going to see GP and then I will pay to have tests done next month. NP tech have told me the tests will cost £100 and I can't afford that this month. Thanks again Kim > > > I cannot tell you how angry I get when I read stories like your Kim. Guest guest
Kim, you could cut the cost a bit by not having the TSH done. You have already had this done and it was 1.7. The thyroid hormone they were talking of is the TSH. That is the one they always do before any of the others. Maybe there will be something useful in the Daily Mail article tomorrow. Lilian TSH I think the shrink said Thyroid hormone was 1.7 and thats not the same as TSH so I have been trying to search for that on internet - unsuccesfully. No one can tell me why my cholesterol decided to rise

The thyroid hormone > they were talking of is the TSH. Except that TSH is NOT a thyroid hormone, it is a pituitary hormone, a copntrol hormone. We know this; why don't they? They are supposed to be experts. These jokers stand in between us and the help we need. Grrr. Rosie
Guest guest
Thanks Lilian I will try to remember to get the paper tomorrow. Feel such a fraud and hypochondriac! Maybe I should go with it and use my 'mental illness' as a reason for asking for the tests and be more pushy. It doesnt help because I am a midwife/nurse, I think they look at me and think I should know better than to challenge their results etc. The problem with that is for the last 3 months I haven't been to work I have been at home wondering if I will go slowly mad before I finally croak. I try to understand but my brain forgets...yesterday I told the shrink there were two important things that bother me at the moment, No. 1. was getting back to work and No 2.. I CANT REMEMBER WHAT NUMBER TWO IS! It was so important yesterday but its disappeared off the radar I cannot remember it and because I cant it is making me even more stressed - Hey its probably loss of memory ha ha....well actually its not that I am sure I will remember again, it doesnt mean its not important its just flippin gone. So upshot of shrink yesterday is that I need to change my medication to a SNRI which is a serotoning noradrenalin reuptake inhibitor as apposed to the SSRI which is selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor...I think. I sit here rubbing my gritty dry eyes and wonder if I will lose all my eyelashes too. Well if I find anything constructive to say I will come back. thanks for listening Lilian and all Kim > > Kim, you could cut the cost a bit by not having the TSH done.
