Guest guest
It seems that Raynaud's is tied to hypothyroidism. Since Iodine assists with hypo T I would think there is a round about relationship due to increased thyroid metabolism. http://www.vegansociety.com/html/food/nutrition/iodine.php http://www.dstartz.com/Dr_Alford.htm Raynaud's disease question > Is there a corellation between iodine deficiency and Raynaud's > disease (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raynaud's_disease)? > > I haven't taken any iodine since last Sunday (waiting for the > shipment) and had very bad reaction yesterday... Guest guest
My experience with what I think is Raynaud's....not a docs diagnosis....I believe it is a mineral imbalance....For a month (Latter part of Dec to 2 days ago) I would wake up with swollen, numb and painful hands ....mostly my right hand. I had been adding extra magnesium which seemed to be calming to my heart. My own decision. Magnesium expands and Calcium contracts was my reasoning. But in the mean time I decided to not drink milk at all. During these changes I was fine no bad symptoms. Then all of a sudden the "Raynaud's" syndrome of painful hands. I then decided to add back back calcium in the form of Viactin. Like magic painful hands stopped?? Thus my conclusion of "imbalance". For myself, at least, this was such a relief, because I thought 'oh no, I am even dropping things'. I bought a complete mineral supplement yesterday...hope this works to keep those awfully painful symptoms away and keep a balance of minerals in my body. By the way, I was drinking Celtic Sea Salt water and taking Iodine all along for this entire past year. The salt minerals were not enough I guess. My best to all, -- Raynaud's disease question> Is there a corellation between iodine deficiency and Raynaud's> disease (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raynaud's_disease)?>> I haven't taken any iodine since last Sunday (waiting for the> shipment) and had very bad reaction yesterday... Guest guest
Hi, , I am in the same boat as you. I have been suffering Raynaud for years and have been gotten worse lately. Not only my fingers but my whole foot became white whenever my body reacts just only mild cold weather. My blood test showed my level of calcium/magnesium are on the higher end of normal range. I have been supplement mag. oil for a year and I also drink raw milk and eat vegetables. I do not think I am lacking calcium even I did not take calcium supplement. My T3 is very low not even reach normal range. have been taking Armour 60 mg. for three month and ready see the blood result I took last week. God knows what causes this painful symptoms...wish I have an answer....HelenKlasi Lady <ronicamelian@...> wrote: My experience with what I think is Raynaud's....not a docs diagnosis....I believe it is a mineral imbalance....For a month (Latter part of Dec to 2 days ago) I would wake up with swollen, numb and painful hands ....mostly my right hand. Guest guest
I don't think I am lacking calcium....but I do think minerals get imbalanced. At least in my case. I added 1500mg in the form of Viactiv which also contains D, K and Sodium in smaller amounts. I swear I could not sleep because of this Raynaud's.....I tried everything....but just reducing magnesium and adding this calcium took the pain completely away. I don't want an imbalance to happen again you know....too much of a good thing. So from now on minerals in complete form for me. Not saying it is right for anyone else....but as for me this was an expensive lesson. -- Re: Raynaud's disease question Hi, , I am in the same boat as you.
