Guest guest
I would strongly suggest that you see someone and ask that your thyroid be tested. If money is an issue you could look into a clinic. If you do have a problem there are medications that can help you. It is well worth the $20 or so that it may cost you a month. I have just started reading the book, The Thyroid Solution, and it has really been enlightening for me. I found that at my local library. Good Luck!! Guest guest
hi! this club has been really helpful to me as well, especially when i am feeling despondent about being ill. i was diagnosed with hypo in september 1998, when i was 19. i was difficult to diagnose because of my age and hormonal fluctuations that are normal for the age. i suffered for many years amidst doctors saying i was lazy and a hypochondriac. very frustrating.
anyway, i am still trying to get over the worst symptom that i have--fatigue. my finace thinks that i may have CFS along with hypo. i have also had fifth disease when i was 12. i wonder if there is a correlation?

doctors and testing are expensive. i learned this when i lost my health insurance. but, sometimes you don't care as long as you know what is wrong. i am on a payment plan with my doctor. but, meds are thankfully, pretty low cost in comparison with other medication costs. about $20 a month is all.

i'm relieved to hear you got away from your husband. he certainly wasn't helping your illness.
try to find support near you. i don't know if there are hypo support groups near you, but if not start one. it will help you immensely.

as for herbal treatment, don't try to correct weight with herbs. try to concentrate on wellness.
such things as dong quai, garlic, magnesium, vitamins B, C and E will help greatly. also, try
a stress formula vitamin. i was put on one when i became ill because of the tendency for hypo patients to become anemic.

i hope this helps and do try to get tested. knowing helps more than feeling helpless with an illness.

welcome...i hope we can offer you support and information. everyone here is great.

shelly
