Guest guest
Hi Roy, Is there a Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oil you would recommend for insomnia? Thanks, Pamela royahewitt <royahewitt@...> wrote: I would like to encourage members with health concerns to study the science and application of Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils. Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils are much more powerful than dried herbs and if used correctly have no side effects as with many pharmaceutical drugs. Guest guest
For All, This is another attempt by a MLM to infiltrate the group to sell their product. It first started a year ago by someone else who entered the group and immediately used the mailing list. I believe the MLM is Young Living. Is this true, Roy? I do not dispute the use of " therapeutic " grade essential oils (every manufacturer will tell you that their oils are " therapeutic " grade). Roy would be very right that there can be great differences in quality depending on extraction and manufacturing methods. Their oils are of excellent quality. There are also many other manufacturers of excellent quality. Statements such as " ...oils are much more powerful than dried herbs... " may be more than a bit misleading. Of course they would be in regards their essential oil content. It is like saying that brandy is more powerful than wine. When " the " active ingredient is an essential oil if you concentrate it you have more bang per volume. The idea of " the " active ingredient is a made up mistake. There are many phytochemicals in all herbs and any kind of extraction process will leave some of those important chemicals out while increasing the concentration of others. This may be advantageous in certain situations but disadvantageous in others. Properly prepared (and stored) dried herbs can do everything (and more) that the essential oil can, just in larger quantity. There are many instances where an essential oil is the best option due to application method, compliance, etc. Statements such as " ...correctly been described as the missing link in modern medicine. " is exclusionary opinion, and that of someone trying to lead you to their product. It is like Dr. (veterinarian) Wallich telling you that all of the ills of mankind are related to deficiencies of trace minerals ( " Dead Doctors don't Lie " ). Careful of imperial rhetoric, the path may be pretty but you may miss other important terrain. Guest guest
Additionally, " side effect " and " therapeutic " effect are the same thing one being desirable the other being undesirable. Because of the potency of a concentrated essential oil, the window of " correct use " is smaller therefore the the chances of causing harm by " incorrect " use increases. -Dave ----- Original Message ----- From: Dave Shelden<mailto:wholehealthawareness@...> gallstones <mailto:gallstones > Sent: Sunday, June 03, 2007 10:37 AM Subject: Re: Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils For All, This is another attempt by a MLM to infiltrate the group to sell their product.
