HEALTH FREEDOM PROTECTION ACT H.R. 2117

May 13, 2007

Representative Ron (along with Representatives Rosco Bartlett, Dan Burton,

Duncan, and Shays) has reintroduced the Health Freedom

Protection Act, H.R. 2117. This is a true health-freedom bill that the NHF has

lobbied for, and it deserves the support of the health-freedom community.

For years, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Federal Trade

Commission (FTC) have continued to censor and engage in heavy-handed attempts to

restrict access to supplements and educational information for Americans. This

bill would stop the FDA from censoring truthful claims about the curative,

mitigative, or preventative effects of dietary supplements.

A grass-roots advocacy letter-writing campaign is needed to help the NHF's

lobbying efforts to educate Congressional members on the need for this

legislation. The NHF will once again be seeking to have a companion bill

introduced in the Senate. The NHF will once again be seeking to have a companion

bill introduced in the Senate. As of May 2, 2007, the bill has been referred to

the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

I think what is needed is RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT in the name of SOUND & SAFE

HEALTH CARE PRACTICES. Because of the lacking RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT-I never

know for sure if I am taking a supplement that is right for me with the aging

process or SOMETHING ELSE. In 1994, I favored more options for comsumers with

supplements and naturpathic medicine or alternative practices because medicine

the way it is practiced is if you don't have the money you don't get the

diagnosis and we'll take out the organ whether you need it or not-I have to lose

my gall bladder because the SURGEON didn't inform me of alternatives like

flushes or WAIT 'N SEE method-our health system is broken and only produces more

confusion from the media-we don't need more lobbyst-we need RESEARCH &

DEVELOPMENT. I am sick to death how people make billions of dollars on someone

lack of knowledge to make an inform decision on THEIR OWN HEALTH CARE-it is

UNETHICAL making money when people don't get better. They

should not be paid until there standards and practices EVERYONE IS AWARE OF

BOTH PHYSCIAN OR PRACTIONEER AND PATIENT. Women's health is non-existent in

this country someone at the NIH decided they would not test women like they do

men for these powerful drugs they came WORK AND THEY DON'T. We as a culture

should be doing RESEARCH AND DEVELOPEMENT WITH TRUE SCIENTIFIC METHOD to

understand the Endocrinology System thoughout the whole-life-continuim. A

female is still a female even when she stops producing babies for the state-she

still needs her hormones balanced to have a better quality of life. If the

medical establishment doesn't kill us in the meantime. WE DON'T NEED THIS

LOBBYST-these people have turned Medicare and Social Security into a poor man's

sub-rate health system allowing doctors to not take patients who have medicare

and then preventing them from accessing Naturpathic doctors who may be able to

I think you may misunderstand the mission of both the NHF and the legislation

being introduced by Ron (running for president by-the-way). Both are to

protect your freedom to choose your own health path. The system that you are so

rightfully upset with has been granted a virtual monopoly by the enactment of

laws (by congress), the chartering of regulatory agencies (FDA for one)

controlled by an industry (Pharm and AMA) that it is supposed to oversee. Ron

's legislation is to stop the erosion and attempt to repair the dike.

The research you refer to is an ongoing process. It is only done as profit

is available or public or philanthropic funding is tendered. The reality is

that " science " knows very little about total functioning of the human organism

even though it has learned great amounts over the past hundred years. The

reality is that no matter what science's viewpoint, you still should be able to

pursue your own path in regards to health. If the industry that has great

profit to gain is allowed to influence your decisions, it will not be about your

physical health primarily but the industries economic health. Viva Ron !

Thank you for the information only I tried to click on the link for the actual

reading of the legislation you provided, but it didn't link up for me-Did you

hear about the Safe Compounding Drug Act of 2007 www.iacprx.org/Kennedy. It

limits what they can do for people who have very specific health needs that " one

size fits all " approach that doesn't work-the Pharma lobbyst are behind this

movement. We always need oversight when it comes to making huge profits for

consumers-like the Ocycontin manuf. saying, " it is not addictive " -when it

certainly was. If you can link me up to the actual legislation I will review

it. About choice-my concept of choice manifest itself in OPTIONS that

professionals are supposed to offer both sides or a least not make it sound like

this is the ONLY thing available. If the powers to be ever start controlling

the internet we are all S.O.S.-it's just a matter of time-esp when the attorney

general starts using the old line, " protecting the

children " parents are suppose to oversee what their children are doing on the

computer. Anyway this is another topic-but it is revelant. Washington is

mobbed up-it needs an overhaul and a third party-I like Ralph Nader-his book,

" The 17 Traditions " is a wonderful book about his childhood-how he learns the

examples. You are so right that we need to confront these things on many

levels. Ron by the way is running on the republican ticket, yet is, as he

HEALTH CARE PRACTICES. Because of the lacking RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT-I never

know for sure if I am taking a supplement that is right for me with the aging

process or SOMETHING ELSE. In 1994, I favored more options for comsumers with

supplements and naturpathic medicine or alternative practices because medicine

the way it is practiced is if you don't have the money you don't get the

diagnosis and we'll take out the organ whether you need it or not-I have to lose

my gall bladder because the SURGEON didn't inform me of alternatives like

flushes or WAIT 'N SEE method-our health system is broken and only produces more

confusion from the media-we don't need more lobbyst-we need RESEARCH &

DEVELOPMENT. I am sick to death how people make billions of dollars on someone

lack of knowledge to make an inform decision on THEIR OWN HEALTH CARE-it is

UNETHICAL making money when people don't get better. They

should not be paid until there standards and practices EVERYONE IS AWARE OF

BOTH PHYSCIAN OR PRACTIONEER AND PATIENT. Women's health is non-existent in this

country someone at the NIH decided they would not test women like they do men

for these powerful drugs they came WORK AND THEY DON'T. We as a culture should

be doing RESEARCH AND DEVELOPEMENT WITH TRUE SCIENTIFIC METHOD to understand the

Endocrinology System thoughout the whole-life-continuim. A female is still a

female even when she stops producing babies for the state-she still needs her

hormones balanced to have a better quality of life. If the medical establishment

doesn't kill us in the meantime. WE DON'T NEED THIS LOBBYST-these people have

turned Medicare and Social Security into a poor man's sub-rate health system

allowing doctors to not take patients who have medicare and then preventing them

from accessing Naturpathic doctors who may be able to offer a different

approach. So no no no to this alert...

HEALTH FREEDOM PROTECTION ACT H.R. 2117

May 13, 2007

Representative Ron (along with Representatives Rosco Bartlett, Dan

Burton, Duncan, and Shays) has reintroduced the Health Freedom

Protection Act, H.R. 2117. This is a true health-freedom bill that the NHF has

lobbied for, and it deserves the support of the health-freedom community.

For years, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Federal Trade

Commission (FTC) have continued to censor and engage in heavy-handed attempts to

restrict access to supplements and educational information for Americans. This

bill would stop the FDA from censoring truthful claims about the curative,

mitigative, or preventative effects of dietary supplements.

A grass-roots advocacy letter-writing campaign is needed to help the NHF's

lobbying efforts to educate Congressional members on the need for this

legislation. The NHF will once again be seeking to have a companion bill

the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
