Guest guest
Wow, how time flies! I was banded by Dr. Kuri 7/21/06. I was 38 and starting at a weight of 367. I lost 100 pounds in 14 months. Then I kind of teetered around the 100 pounds lost mark for about 3 months, but struggled with a fill that was probably too tight. This caused me to drink calories, eat soft foods, and not lose much. December 2, 2007 my mother passed away, and a week later we found out I was pregnant. Of course, like most obese women, I had been told I was infertile, and would never have children. Three days before I turned 40, and miles from my home in Washington, back in Michigan where my mother had lived, I had it confirmed at a clinic that I was indeed pregnant. According to my doctor's records, which look better than my records, I have only gained about 25 pounds in the pregnancy, at 36 weeks. I am due anytime within the next 4 weeks. I did develop gestational diabetes, so am having to take insulin to control it. This has actually helped me make better food choices than I may have. While I am getting bigger every day, I am not stressed out about it, because I know I have the band to help me now and when I have delivered. I am so thankful to Dr. Kuri for his expertise and skill to place this tool. I'm thankful for this board and those that have offered helpful advice over the past 2 years, and I thank God for our little miracle baby girl to come soon. Happy 2-year bandiversary to me! God has indeed blessed you in so many ways. I know that after you deliver you'll start losing again. And sooner than you can imagine you'll be REALLY getting lots of exercise lugging around a baby, chasing a crawling baby, chasing a two year old, teaching her to ride a bike, and ... and... cheers dan -- " It's OK to be a little broken, everybody's broken in this life " Jon Bon Jovi Dan Lester, Boise, Idaho, USA www.mylapband.tk Banded 4/27/03, Dr. Ortiz, Tijuana Started at 355, at goal in the 210-220 range for almost 4 years Ultimate goal of 195 Tummytuck in Boise and SmartLipo in Tijuana
