Hello Sheila

I don't post often, basically as I haven't much to tell yet.

After meeting Dr. P and being dx. with Hashimotos Disease I decided to

try and get help on the NHS first.....forever the optimist!!! I was

taking Nutri Adrenal Extraand Nutri Thyro Complex as advised by Dr. P

but stopped them because of the NHS tests. I don't feel well again but

after years of feeling like this I can go a few more months.

So far so good, the Endo was a good listener and looked at all the

results from IWDL Labs showing, low ferritin, auto antibodies and low

adrenal reserve. He is now doing his own tests. I had a lot of blood

taken the day we met 22/11 and had a radio-active thyroid x-ray and an

ultrasound of my thyroid on 17/12. He was very concerned by the results

of my Adrenal Stress Test which impressed me no end. On Monday I am

having a Short Synacthen Test commencing at 8a.m. in the morning.

I will see my Endo on 24th January for his opinion on all the results.

I have been told to eat and drink as normal before going for the test

but another member thinks I should not eat after midnight and only

drink the next day. Naturally for the sake of the test I want the

worst reading possible so would you agree that I should go on an empty

stomach. The letter says they will give me a light snack and a drink

before returning home which will be 3hours later.

Hope you are fully recovered after your bad fall last year and wish you

a happy 2008.

Regards
