Guest guest
Kirstin- My mother also got the point where her gall bladder was not functioning (probably due to a stone clogging the piping) and had her gall bladder removed. She could only eat Jell-O and that made her sick too. Perhaps the gall bladder flushes could work for you and remove/soften that large stone you have. This group does have a lot of people who have had success with flushes and can be a resource. But don't be afraid to get it removed. Unfortunately if you are significantly overweight, they cannot do it laparascopically Gabe > > Hi > > I've just joined, and though I would introduce myself. Guest guest
Hi, I'm sorry for your troubles but you must keep on fightinh and not give up.If God created a problem he also provided soultion and it is upto us to find the most appropriate one for us. I would suggest you change your diet and modify your life-style a little.Pepsi and toast will give you lot of indigestion.I've a diet which was suggested by a Naturopath and works well for digestive problems. You can try it for a while and see how things go.Some life style tips are also enclosed: Diet Chart: Morning after waking up :Eat two figs which have been soaked overnight in water. You can drink this water also.Make sure the figs are clean. If clean dry figs are not availabe you can use raisins (10-12). Morning after going to the toilet: 2tsp of raw Amla (India goosbery) juice + Honey (1 to 2 tsp). Breakfast:Papaya and some other fruit (Pineapple is very good).Low fat yougurt/curd Mid morning:Soup of raw vegetables+Raw turmeric+Pinch of salt +Ginger+Garlic(No other spices to be added) Lunch:Brown Rice boiled with raw turmeric.Bowl of low fat curd. You can have some boiled vegetable with this if you feel like.Again, add no other spices or oil etc. Evening:Coconut water/orange juice and a piece of fruit.dont take the canned juice.Fresh juice should be made at home and consumed immediately. Dinner:Boiled Barley Daliya/brown rice with boiled vegetable and low fat curd.No oil or spices except little salt, raw turmerice, ginger and Garlic (in moderation). If you fell like eating something sweet you can take some Jaggery. No refined sugars, chocolates, coffe, alcohol, smoking. You can have some good quiality Green tea (1-2 cups).Avlod all refined food (especilaay toast ) and fizzy dinks (pepsi). You can drink plenty of fresh fruit juices . If you get cravings for Wheat, take home-made bread made of One part Whole wheat+One part Wheat Bran+One part Barley Flour. No oil/fat to be added. Drink at least 2-3 liters of pure water in a day. Take B-Vitamin and folic acid supplemets (In consultation ith your doctor). Try to walk outdoors for at least 30-45 minutes every day (You can do this for 10 minutes 4-5 times a day for a total of 45 minutes).Take in plenty of fresh air.Try to be close to nature in a green environment with a lot of trees, flowers etc. Do things which you like.Always be relaxed no matter what the situation.Do deep breathing for a minute if you fell stress or anger.Think about something pleasent when you are stressed or angry. Listen to soothing music.Take warm baths.Keep your surroundings clean and burn fragrances (lavender is very good) around you.Have fath in a higher power and believe that you are being healed by it. Godd luck! Puneet Kirstin <kirstin@...> wrote: Hi I've just joined, and though I would introduce myself. I'm hoping to find help/support and advice from this group. My name is Kirstin and I live in Central Scotland. In January 2004 I suffered a severe gall bladder attack, my liver function was haywire and I was losing consciousness through shock. I ended up in a high dependency unit, and they diagnosed cholecystitis. When I went for an ultrasound scan, no gall stones were found. I was discharged with antibiotics, and so started what has been over three years of pain and misery. I was only 21 at that point. I'm now 25. Over the past 3 years, I've been told that I have nothing wrong, told I was just depressed among other things. I get regular attacks, and severe stomach problems (both ends). I've been on tramadol for the entire time, and have recently been prescribed pethidine and put on losec. This year I was finally diagnosed as having gall stones. After fighting for more tests to be done (and at first being told no because they cost money) - I was sent for a isotope scan. During the isotope scan no gall bladder was seen at all, and I was called back two days later by a Dr to ''check my anatomy'' as he didn't believe I had a gall bladder. He had a good look and found a stone blocking the neck of the gall bladder, which he believes has been there for the entire three years. I'm overweight, and find it hard to reduce my weight - I find exercising difficult due to pain I get (Even though I own 2 horses and would ride/work with them daily if I could), and my diet has been reduced to mainly living on Pepsi. I get a lot of bother with foods causing intense pain. I tend to have a diet of Pepsi and toast. When I asked my consultant about a liquid diet - since I realise surviving on Pepsi isn't healthy - I was turned down. I saw a Dr on Monday about operating. I was told that I wouldn't be operated on due to my weight. I have a strong, healthy heart - and am healthy otherwise apart from my gall bladder. I am reasonably fit, and have been gradually losing weight. I fought with him - and he finally conceded (after I threatened to sue) to put me forward for heart/lung pre-op tests. I'm in constant pain with this. And I don't know what to do. I've looked at alternative therapies online, but never seen one that seemed to have believable testimonies of working. But I want my life back. I'm currently 'on the sick'/unable to work, and I've lost 3 years of my life to this. I used to be out-going, loved drinking (which I was told to stop due to my liver function) and socialising. Now I spend most of my time indoors, with little social contact. I worry constantly about the thoughts of an operation, but at the same time - I can't go on like this. I want it to be gone. Anyways, sorry for the whiny post, but felt I should introduce myself and my ''case''. I'd love to speak to people who have gall bladder problems, I feel I bore friends and family, and I don't like to show " weakness " so I find it difficult to admit to people here exactly how it effects me. Guest guest
hi kirstin i'm kind of in the same boat as you, but for longer. my pains started when i was only about 15, and i'm now 23....i've been diagnosed with gallstones as well but am reluctant to give it up. i can usually contorl it with diet but last year it got out of control when i was in school. now i've developed what seems to be candidiasis...it sucks big time. i'm currently trying homeopathy to dissolve the stones. the last time i tried the flush i got pathetically nauseous and ended up vomitting for hours...really. it was so scary. i'm not trying to scare you but just be careful. so i thought to myself what did i do wrong? i had done it a few times before but never got a reaction like that...so i went in for another ultrasound and they said i have 4 stones...2 are bigger than the opening of hte gallbladder itself. so i need to break them first and then flush. i think everyone should make their stones as little as possible to reduce discomfort and risk of infection or whatever... i don't think pepsi is good for you either i replaced it with 100% martinelli's apple cider and it's great. i do drink pepsi once in a blue moon though i admit hehe... also i find when my gallbladder is aching that exercise seems to help it...i don't know if anyone else experiences this... good that you are fighting your doctors, if it was up to them many of us would be in worse conditions with one less organ and i totally undersatnd about the family thing, i've pretty much stopped talking about it with them as well... we are here for you! keep us posted and get a change on yoru diet girl! it helps a lot avoid gasy foods as that can mimic our gallbladder pains... my brother in law told me a great quote, you should eat to live, not live to eat. best shefy --------------------------------- Looking for a deal? Guest guest
That is so true. I had my first and only GB attach March 12, 2006. Was in ER and then admitted to the hospital. After all kinds of tests, my doctor came in and said I needed surgery. I said, " No, I'm going to go home and do some research first. " I still have my GB! Amber good that you are fighting your doctors, if it was up to them many of us would be in worse conditions with one less organ .
