Hi Sheila,

I had a good visit to Dr Peatfield last Saturday - it's such a relief and comforting to talk to a doctor who understands what you're saying and it was also like visiting an old friend as he's so easy to be with.

As I have my first endo appointment in 3 weeks time it has complicated things a bit. Even though my adrenals have got worse, Dr Peatfield was very pleased with what I'm taking but said I obviously need to do more and so for now, I could take another Thorne Adrenal Complex and to start Nutri Thyroid again 1 daily. I've not been able to tolerate more than that when I've taken it before but over the last year I have realised I need longer to get used to something than is probably considered the norm before adding in more.

I'm to continue like this until I've seen the endo and then contact him afterwards as we know they aren't going to understand about my adrenals or about not converting T4 to T3. Depending on what happens with the endo, he suggested then to do either HC or Isocort and possibly a little T3. He also said the reason I get worse from September onwards and pick up a bit in summer is because my thyroid needs extra support then.

After my visit last Saturday I became very ill again, with whatever else it is that I've got, and have only just surfaced back to my normal ill self! Mainly, I think, because I'm living on Complan. Dr Peatfield said the positive antibodies (ANA & ASMA) I've got are hepatitis and this week with whatever the flare was, I've had chest pain (worse to the right side) and pain in the liver area which goes through to my back.

Now I think it's probably my gall bladder causing all this as I'm recognising similarities to when my OH became ill, was rushed to hospital and had to have his gallbladder out. He'd been ill for 8 months and the doctor couldn't tell him what was wrong with him. Turns out he'd got stones stuck in the bile duct. Gall bladder problems seem to go hand in hand with thyroid.

Got to be patient again now for 3 weeks………..

BW,

Gillian.
