Guest guest
I had my surgery 2 days ago so I am very new. I am having some nausea and am very sore but other than that am doing ok Can you give me any suggestions, comments, or ideas for the next few weeks. I really need your help. Just knowing how you feel after surgery will be a big help. Thanks Vera
Guest guest
Hi, welcome! Everyone is a little different, in recovery from surgery, fills, and most other things. I'll try to offer some generalities, though, and the post a couple above this one may help too. You just had a major surgery, so being sore for a fee days to a week is normal and expected! Take the pain meds you were given, or liquid tylenol, as needed so you can be comfortable, quite active during the day and sleep well at night. These help prevent post-op complications and increases circulation, which speeds healing. A bit of nausea is also common, as the stomach is very sensitive. still it's essential that you be able to get in enough fluids to prevent dehydration. This will be a minimum of 64 oz a day or so. This may mean 1 tsp every few minutes much of the day, if needed. Hot things are much better and more easily tolerated than cold. You can get some ideas about different fluids from the document in the files called " Foods - the first month " . Most people are tired for a few days to a week. This is from the surgery itself and the anesthesia - both are hard on the body. I'd also suggest you consider starting the good Bandster vitamins in the vitamin document in the files. a great many docs now recommend them, and even sell them in their offices, inlcuding Dr Ortiz, Dr. rumbaut, and many US docs too. they are ideally begun 1-2 months before surgery, but at least asap if your doc didn't mention them. They ar specially formulated for bandster needs. also see the other documents in the files, especially " Birth control " and the " Band Guide " that covers all the basics. Start some daily exercise asap - exercise is esssential to success and we need to be very seris about generally moving much more, plus getting some dedicated exercsie asap. Walking, light ellipticals, and treadmills are usually ok from the day we get home - but check with your doc to be sure. Vaoid abdomninal exercises for 4-6 weeks, to allow good healing. Keep an eye on your incisions - insoect them well 2x a day, looking for any signs or symptoms of infection - and follow the wound care orders from your doc carefully. The port area is the biggest incision and the last to heal. it can be good and sore for 3-4 weeks. That's enough for now! Please ask any questions, or share any concerns, and we'll all be happy to help you. Glad you're here! Sandy r > > I had my surgery 2 days ago so I am very new.
