Hi, Sabra - welcome!

I'm afraid there is no magic in taking off the last 30-50-100 #. the

formula is still the same - eat less d exercise more.

Sweets easily sabotage us. most of us eat sweets for emotional

reasons, not because we are hungry. This is " head and heart " hunger

and the band does nothing to help tis.

We need serious work on these issues, preferably with a good

therapist. Many also find great help (along with a therapist, ideally)

from the Bandster success guide Imagery CD's at www.BandsterME.com

alo look seriously at you exercise, nutrition, fluids, and the many

other things needed to do wll. Lots of people can lose fairl well at

first without bing very serious about band needs, but as we go on, we

need o pay closer an closer attention to following the band rules,

you might want to look at the Band Guide in the files ehre, for a

review of the things most docs feel essential - and sure do too.

I'm really glad you quit smoking. smokers have a very hard time with

banding, and their stomachs often have a chronic gastrritis that

makes good fills very hard if not impossible, not to mention the many

other health dangers. Getting both your weight and the smoking undr

control is just excellent! VERy tough to do at the same time!!

How have you been doing with your fills? Have you gotten periodic

fluoros to assess band position, pouch and esophagus status? that's

quite important every 6 months or so, if we don't have our fills done

with a fluoro.

Go over the other things in the files, when you an, too, and ask

about any of these basic things you didn't know or were not taught

about by your doc.

Glad you're here with us!

The bitty fractions are irrelevant. It'll drop more than that the

next time you pee.

That's great that you got past that and got back to where you were.

You're only responsible for YOU, not for impressing others in the

waiting room. Besides, they don't know if you used to weigh 500 or

anything else, do they? And we all have our own paths to follow.

First thing, don't have any sweets in your house. Second, avoid them

in other cases as much as possible. Don't even look at the dessert

menu. Don't go down that aisle of the grocery store. Whatever else

like that works for you. If other family members think they need

them, let them go out and get them and eat them before they come home.

Are family issues a part of it?

I hope they checked to see it wasn't heart issues so you at least have

that off your mind. The 'female surgery' will hopefully not set you

back. I've been through that with an ex, and though not fun it was at

least pretty quick recovery for her (and for two of my sisters).
