I actually do not believe in it at all. there is really no such thing, if people believe once they get there, things are simple and guaranteed. ** YOU ** determine how well your fill works - by what you choose to eat, and how you choose to follow the rules for stomach and band care. There is no fill level that is perfect or predictable all the time. The band's restriction will normally vary a lot. Please see the several " Fill " documents in the files that tell more about what a good restriction is (what some call the " sweet spot " . The most important thing to understand is that even with an ideal fill, the restriction will vary daily, sometimes, hourly. That is NORMAL and you have to adapt and continue to follow band guidelines. Most docs make it seem far easier than it really is. If you have lost 31 # in such a short time, you're doing fine. You're doing what needs to be done - and this is what you'll need to continue to do forever - so I guess it does not get " easier " - it just gets more rotuine, as our new habits become cemented into our actions. Losing 80 # slowly and safely will take 1-2 years. The goal is 1-2# a week - not more. when we try to lose quickly, the body rebels and regains as soon as it possibly can. By losing very slowly, the body has time to adjust and does not feel deprived. We will never lose at a steady rate, and will go up and down as we plug along. If you graph your weight loss, as I suggest people do - all we are after is a general downward trend over time. Sandy r > > Hi, > I'm only 4 months out and am struggling to stay on track.
