Guest guest
Hi All, I have been nagging my son's fiance to get her thyroid tested and she has just emailed me this.............. ..........My thyroid is abnormal. My thyroid peroxidase was ?259 and the range is 0-75, although my autoimmune antibodies were all negative. My GP has referred me to Endocrinology and I have an appointment with Dr S on 22.08.08. I am deficient in B12, so have started a short course of injections the final one (no 6) is next Monday. Then every 3 months for life. I am not good with needles anyway, but once it is injected feels like you have a dead arm, really quite painful and will be glad when they have finished. Finally I am glucose intolerant and is it likely that I will develop diabetes eventually. I need to cut sugar and fat from my diet, take more regular exercise, eat more fruit and veg and have a further blood test in 6-12 months............ Could someone explain what all this means?
