Guest guest
I think people come here because they want advice, they have questions and they don't know who else to turn to. You would think a gallbladder group would be where to go to get questions answered, not to be attacked. The group is for gallstones, it is not called " only post here if you are against gallbladder removal " . I think we should all be gracious to people when they come here with questions. After all we look more knowledgeable when we answer questions politely. I don't think I would trust the advice given here if attacked in this manner. Some websites say magnesium citrate is the best....or even the calcium/magnesium supplement together. If I seemed rude to someone, then I apologize. My comment about a cholesterol-lowering drug was in my opinion. Many of those drugs are dangerous and totally unnecessary. Many of the heart medications don't work as good as magnesium, which we all seriously need. You think I'm kidding? Study about it for a while. You'll see what I'm talking about. It helps your brain, protects the blood-brain barrier to keep toxins from entering your brain. It helps your short-term and long-term memory. I didn't realize the importance of it until I started researching it. I had taken it before when I had a GB and didn't even realize the importance of it. Even places that put out vitamins put it in their calcium as an afterthought. However, it's much more important than that. The difference is magnesium malate? I don't know who wrote this. Malate is the malic acid. It's easier on your stomach than citrate. The malate works with the magnesium and gets into your joints, muscles and your body absorbs it easier. It breaks up the lactic acid buildup. It's great for any kind of body ache or spasm, headaches. Just wonderful! Great on the liver, the heart, kidneys. Mg Citrate is good too. More of it causes a laxative effect. Both of these kinds your body absorb better, but the sustained release Mg Malate is great for causing you not to dump your magnesium. If you're deficient, which most people are, then taking more Mg citrate can cause you diarrhea. Your body will dump it if you have diarrhea, and you don't want that to happen because you need it to build up in your cells. Guest guest
Hi, Gabe: That's the thing, magnesium *deficiency* causes kidney stones. Your supplement that would cause kidney stones would be calcium unless you have the proper proportion of mg along with it. Magnesium will strengthen your kidneys, unless you are suffering already from chronic kidney disease or failure where you have to have dialysis. Then it's basically too late. You can't take magnesium to help your kidneys once they are about gone. We take 500 mg of magnesium per day now: two in the morning, two at nighttime, and this is about a little over a week for us now on mg malate. I had added another pill per day on a few days, which is fine. If you're deficient, which I was, you might need more. I wouldn't start out with more, though. You'll be helped by that much. Go and read the customer reviews of those books that I mentioned: " The Magnesium Factor, " which I'm expecting in any day now, and " The Miracle of Magnesium " by Dr. Carolyn Dean. Really read the reviews that people write. Lots of people are helped pretty much quickly by adding magnesium. And consider this, many people now drink bottled water. I do. It cuts your magnesium level again because it's wonderful for you in water, which it used to be in more tap water than it is now. If I'm going somewhere, I have my bottled water instead of a cold drink or whatever, but it doesn't contain the mg. There's an article, I think, on mgwater.com called " Is Your Bottled Water Killing You? " Can't remember the exact name. Guest guest
Well obviously not physically. Maybe more an attack at someone's intelligence??? Specifically things like this... >>>Hey, if that's the way you feel about it, go ahead and have the surgery and then you can come back to us later and tell us how sorry you are. Three people. Wow!<<< >>>I am wondering why you are even posting here. Sounds like you have made up your mind and trying to get the people here to agree with you, to m ake yourself feel better about your decision. The people here want to get better, but not by losing body parts.<<< I really don't want to stir up any trouble on the list, everyone here has always been a big help to me when I needed it. Surely I am not the only one who feels rude comments have been made to this person? I just feel we should all try to be a little more gracious and some responses being made are just plain rude. -----Original Message----- From: gallstones [mailto:gallstones ] On Behalf Of Dave Shelden Sent: Friday, June 15, 2007 3:13 PM gallstones Subject: Re: Re: (to G) People who had surgery Attacked in what manner? -Dave ----- Original Message ----- From: Traci<mailto:tracic@...> gallstones <mailto:gallstones > Sent: Friday, June 15, 2007 9:04 AM Subject: RE: Re: (to G) People who had surgery I think people come here because they want advice, they have questions and they don't know who else to turn to. Guest guest
I did not say who the posts were from, Dave asked " attacked in what way " and I shared that with him. I only copy and pasted some of the comments that would've been hurtful to me. -----Original Message----- From: gallstones [mailto:gallstones ] On Behalf Of G Murray Sent: Friday, June 15, 2007 3:51 PM gallstones Subject: Re: Re: (to G) People who had surgery ACtually I did not say that so please do not quote that under my post! Guest guest
Too much calcium and not enough magnesium is what causes calcifications of stones( kidney/gallbladder) It does not have the mg to bind to so it binds to cholesterol and other matter floating around in the body. thus stone formation. Malate is a good thing to try. It will thin the bile somewhat and get it flowing. Really you need a few good oils in the mix to keep the gall bladder working but it is much better than the animal fats. That is why olive oil is used for the gallbladder cleanse. You don't need to do the actual cleanse, just incorporate a few tsp-tbls into the diet daily. coconut oil, flax oil and olive oils are good choices. Flax is a good source of omega 3 essential oil. Borage, pumpkin seed, evening primrose, hemp and other fish oils like cod liver oil, halibut liver oil and salmon oils are all good sources of essential fatty acids. I would rotate them so you are getting a good variation. If you are deficient your body will use what it needs. After a while you can them back off a little. I do work as a pharmacy tech on a pharmacy and have spent years researching herbals. G wrote: > Definitely wasn't offended on your take on cholesterol meds. Guest guest
You can take it either way. It is available in a gelatin capsule so you still get the same oil you need to take a couple a day or you can take a teaspoon of flax oil in a salad dressing or something similar or you can take a couple of tablespoon of ground up flax seed. All as good as the other. You have to be careful to only take a limited amount of flax seed oil per day as it can build up and be toxic after a while. It is also very good for skin hair and nails. It will make hair shine after a few weeks. But like I said before I like to rotate my sources of EFA so you get the benefits of all different types of oils.
